Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

As if being given the title, Psychopath, in UK and US were not silly enough, there is much more in store for the intrepid investigator of spoof Bond product. George Martin leads, perfectly adequately and there are some fine looking ladies but silliness tends to prevail, although as another has said, it never becomes completely tiresome as there is always something vaguely, amusing or intriguing cropping up. As a for instance, and this was neither amusing or intriguing, the prominently poster featured, Gloria Paul turns up and does a complete night club song ( and what passes as a striptease). Unfortunately Klaus Kinski in best bib and tucker is on best behaviour and causes barely a stir, unless whacking an English bobby counts. So, not boring, not great, but colourful and well paced.

I can understand the previous reviewer's frustration if he was expecting this to be a horror film, due to the extremely misleading English title ("Psychopath") and Klaus Kinski's presence (he actually has a very small role). The truth is this is an offbeat crime comedy, mostly flippant and parodic when it focuses on the hero, a gentleman-thief-master of disguise, and the almost Clouseau-like Inspector of Scotland Yard, who is always one step behind him, but also pretty grim in its actual crime plot, which ends with several deaths, including some of innocent people. The hero also has extra springy gymnastic abilities, which make for some unusual fight scenes. The female cast is exceptionally attractive: Sophia Loren-lookalike Gloria Paul has just one scene, a show-stopping musical number, and Orchidea De Santis appears in an equally show-stopping bikini. The music score is somewhat repetitious but extremely catchy. This is not really a great film, but at least it never gets boring. ** out of 4.

Psychopath, as this video was titled, begins with thieves who steal the contents of a safe, then are attacked by James Bond as they are leaving. Well, actually a dummy head of Sean Connery. All the shots of him have his face away from the screen. Later, it's revealed it was a mask. The man with the mask is Siegpress, who charges the police or insurance companies a percentage of the value of the stolen items he steals in order to return them.I thought this was a horror movie because of the title, the presence of Klaus Kinski, and the fact that it was labeled as a horror movie by the video store. It's more of a crime thriller with some comedy in it. As such, I really wasn't interested and kept nodding off and eventually forward scanned through the rest.It does have some very colorful set design and some very 1960s soundtrack music. At the end there were trailers by the video distributor for this movie as well as Banana Monster AKA Schlock (1973), White Slave AKA Schiave bianche: violenza in Amazzonia (1985), and I think Primal Fear.
