Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
Keeley Coleman
The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Portia Hilton
Blistering performances.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

Am I the only one who thought it was like a mixture of Let It Shine meets Cinderella?. Let It Shine because of the pop singer falling for a guy who wants to be a singer but his father wouldn't let him but in this version his the bad stepfather?Anyways this is loosely based on Cinderella except its gender blended meaning its done in vice versa the guy instead of the girl being Cinderella. A handsome boy named Charlie Prince(Max Schindler)dreams of being a singer so he does a demo song and sents it to some big record company studios where he works as a cleaner in order to get some money to buy back his deceased mom's piano back as his stepfather and his two dimwitted brothers(who look an awful lot like Jedward the Irish twins who rose to fame on X Factor)sold it to buy a karaoke machine out of the Piano. But when Charlie meets up with a famous pop star played by Keki Palmer from True Jackson VIP he makes it his mission to give her his Cd that he sung and make it big on stage. So when he goes to the ball in deep cover will Keki's charcther know who Rags is??Bottom line the film felt very much like a Disney Channel Original Movie than a Nickleodon Original Movie? as the songs were very Disney. But hey I loved Disney since I was a kid and I'm now an adult.The film was nice but it seemed like a rip off of Let It Shine with the guy wanting to be a singer,pop princess doesn't know that the guy sang it,and they get that fairytale book ending in the end. But for what it is its a movie to entertain people. So for that I'm giving it a 6.

It is one of the best movies that best movies i watched in 2012 till now.The story is completely different which brings the nicest musical feelings.And i'm sure you feel yourself falling in love with Music.This movie allows you to bond with some characters and as you follow those characters through your life and teach you to always be honest,stay true.'Rags' is truly one of those films that makes u feel happy about one's self for watching, and leaves you with the feeling that music can change the hearts, even if only through one heart.It's about working towards one's goals, commitment and believing in one's self.I think that this movie is great. The actors are very talented and look very smart and real, as if it happened really.I would recommend it to people of all ages.
