Holstra Boring, long, and too preachy.
ThedevilChoose When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
Phillida Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
SnoopyStyle Ramona Quimby (Joey King) is a young girl with a wild imagination. Her big sister Beezus (Selena Gomez) is eternally embarrassed by her along with other things in her life. Their father (John Corbett) loses his job and the family starts to have money troubles. But it's the kind of movie where everything eventually works out right. This is a great movie for younger girls. It's good clean fun with a couple of wholesome young actresses. Joey King is especially adorable. Her sunny outlook will win you over. And it's got the super sweet Ginnifer Goodwin as aunt Bea. It's a good movie to watch with your little kids. The money troubles provide a little bit of drama, but it never gets out of hand to darken the movie. It's message that everything will turn out alright is most fitting for the little ones.
preeti singh It was a perfect watch on a Sunday noon, lazying in my couch.Takes you back to your childhood days.superb acting by both the girls.Ramona is the star of movie but i equally loved Beezus. Its a must watch for entire family. If you have siblings and had a sweet sour relationship with them, you will definitely love this movie.I in fact cried watching it because its so emotionally enriching.Ramona with all her antics is super cute.I also wanted to see Selena Gomez's acting and she is apt in her role and doesn't disappoints you at all.Its not a movie only for kids,in fact all parents should watch it with their kids. For me its a feel good movie which lifts your mood every time you watch it.Watch it with your family and enjoy Ramona and Beezus's beautiful world.
phd_travel This family comedy is based on the recent economic downturn and is about how a little girl and her family cope with the bread winner being laid off. It's fun to see the effects of the financial crisis from a child's point of view with the little fantasy clips. The story is slightly more on the serious side because of this - not a laugh a minute for sure. The adult casting is good. John Corbett is likable as the father and Bridget Moynahan looks suitably unglamorous as a mother. Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Duhamel and Sandra Oh are likable supporting actors. Joey King as Romona is okay but a her disasters are a little annoying at times. Couple of faults. Strange casting of Selena Gomez, because of her latina look she doesn't look like she could possibly be the offspring of the very un-ethnic looking Bridget Moynahan and John Corbett. One problem with the ending. How are they going to live their previous lifestyle on a part time art teacher's salary?
Ryan_MYeah Centering on a wildly imaginative young girl named Ramona (Played by Joey King), it tells a story of her and her family. Her father (Played by John Corbett), is having trouble finding work after his company downsizes and fires him, her sister nicknamed Beezus (Played convincingly by Selena Gomez) is often quite annoyed by her sister's antics, and she herself is an outsider to a world which sees her as overly odd, that and their house is about to be repossessed.I'm actually happy that I turned out enjoying the film more than I thought I was going to. But even though it's not a bad movie, it still left me feeling there was more potential. The cast is charming, specifically that of Joey King and Selena Gomez as the title characters, but there are still some arcs and characters that are inconsistently handled. The script is very sweet, but I feel that any emotional resonance it was trying to reach wasn't always up to par. But it does offer some good laughs, touching moments, and there was plenty of redeeming factors for it to leave a good taste in my mouth.Ramona and Beezus isn't great, but it could have been worse.I give it **1/2 out of ****
