Far from Perfect, Far from Terrible

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...

Red Tails is a movie about African American men in the Tuskegee training program. Throughout this movie you can tell that the men have a special relationship with each other. This causes the movie to have an intriguing factor. Because the characters have such a strong bond with each other, anything that happens to one of them, affects everyone. Even though the actual events that happen in the movie may not be relatable to everyone, you are still able to feel the energy because the relationship the cast has with each other is indeed relatable.
During World War II a crew of African American pilots are faced with segregation, causing them to be mostly kept grounded, eventually they are called to duty by Col. A.J. Bullard. Anthony Hemingway is the director while Nate Parker, Ne-yo, Tristan Mack Wilds, David Oyelowo, Terrence Howard and Cuba Gooding Jr. are the stars. This movie was shot in Slovenia, Italy, Hamilton Air force Base, Novato California and many more places. Red Tails was filmed from March 9, 2009 to July 2009 and was released in different months in 2012 all over the world. Common Sense Media has rated this movie a 2/5 , IMDB gave it a 5.9/10 and Rotten Tomatoes gave it a rate of 42%.
In Red Tails the main characters are challenged along with everyone else. Nate Parker (Easy) struggles with a drinking problem which comes back to hurt him and his crew while in the air. Tristan Wilds (Junior) loses some of his sight but is allowed to still go in the air and fight, he might've been better off staying on ground but he was determined to fly. David Oyelowo (Lightening) falls in love with a spanish speaking women, but the inability to understand each other does not stop them from becoming engaged. Terrence Howard (Colonel Bullard) does everything that is humanly possible to keep his pilots in order and to make them the best they can be.
Watching the Red Tails movie you don't just get the story of the Tuskegee airmen, you get a story of African American men sticking together, fighting together and building a relationship with each other. Over the times of hardship brought upon them, these men learned to love and care for each other, not just for their own good but for the crew as a whole. This movie is about the everything the airmen went through, from being in a new country, racism, hatred, love and even the loss of some member of the crew. But most importantly the movie shines a spotlight on how these men work together and have eachothers backs through everything.
I give this movie a thumbs up and would recommend everyone to see it. Red Tails is a excellent film and its informative. You could go into the movie knowing nothing about the Tuskegee Airmen and come out knowing everything you need to. Adults and kids could go enjoy this movie, it tells the sad but also amazing story of such an important group of people but it isn't too serious that you'll walk out feeling down or saddened.

The most exciting part in ¨Red Tails¨ is when they were fighting the Germans and they blew up their all there army. I found that part most exciting because it shows them winning victory and how they all were coming together as a team and win. That's why I find that post most exciting in ¨Red Tails¨.
The movie ¨Red Tails´ was taken place January 20, 2012. It is a PG-13 movies. Red tails is about During World War II, the Civil Aeronautics Authority selects 13 black cadets to become part of an experimental program at the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. The program aims at training "colored personnel" to become fighter pilots for the Army. However, discrimination, lack of institutional support and the racist belief that these men lacked the intelligence. As they become known, more than prove their worth.
What happens in the movie is basically young black men going to war against the Germans. And they are fighting for their country and their victory. Pilots who were the first black servicemen to fly combat missions for the US Army Air Forces at a time when the military was racially segregated and black Americans were not recognized as full citizens at home.
Something in the film that was most important to me is when they were fighting the Germans and they won. That film was most important to me because it shows that they are hard working black men that won't take no lost. It always shows that they are proving to them even tho they are black they still are good fighter who fights for their country.
This is a great movie and yes do recommend everyone to watch this because you will enjoy it. So yes i do recommend people to watch this. It teaches you a lot and you will learn a lot . and you will also see how young black men can make history and make victory. So yes please watch it because you will love it!

¨ A crew of African American pilots in the Tuskegee training program, having faced segregation while kept mostly on the ground during World War II, are called into duty under the guidance of Col. A.J. Bullard. ¨ I feel as though reading that part alone makes the movie a great movie because there are not a lot of movies with the starring roles as african american black men as the stars . The movies talks about segregation and how bad it was during WWll , A black getting together with a white women, the black men getting crappy material, treated bad by other WHITE pilots and etc. and to watch that movie and see that they didn't want help during the war, why were they trying to belittle them and trying to deny them the right to fly . SO I think this was a Great movie !

RED TAILS is George Lucas's throwback to old-fashioned war films where the emphasis is on action over complex storytelling and the like. I know this film was panned on release but I found myself enjoying it regardless, at least on a superficial level. It's not on par with something moving like GLORY but it does tick all of the right boxes and even though parts of the story are clichéd, I was still engaged in the tale. The script is nothing to write home about, playing out all of the usual characters from the wild man fighter ace to the gruff but proud officer and the rookie. The cast is undistinguished with only Cuba Gooding Jr. and Terrence Howard standing out as the guys at the top. However, RED TAILS does offer plentiful action, and it's a lot better than I was expecting. Yes, Lucas is still obsessed with CGI, and absolutely everything in this film is a CGI effect (including a football!) but so much money has been spent in post production that the effects look remarkably good. This is a thrilling, old-fashioned adventure and one I had no qualms about enjoying. It's certainly better than the STAR WARS prequels...
