Reviews

Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
ChicDragon It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.
Kien Navarro Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
moshirhemdan The film storyline is good but as an Egyptian I was disappointed by the film makers!! the Egyptian accent is such a miss!! it was weird mix of Arabic formal language,Syrian and Egyptian slang!! why didn't they pay much attention to those details?! not all Arab countries speak same slang and uses the same accent. some other turn offs are the Arabic stereo typing: why can't they make a movie about Arabic country without a belly dancing scene.. just wondering ?! On one scene El-Ibrahimi's wife asks his mother : "Does he even attend a mosque?" really?? so it is a bad thing for a Muslim man to practice his religion by paying at the mosque?!
Jonathan H Pienaar A very well-crafted film with a conscience. Yes, it may not have pleased the right-wingers, and if you enjoyed the torture culture portrayed in Zero Dark Thirty, then maybe you will have to examine your values after seeing this film. The role and rights of the military in a post-9/11 world are still the subject of debate -- a major plot-point in Season 2 of The Network revolved around this. When, if ever, is it right to use saran gas, or kidnap and torture, or kill innocent bystanders? To save a soldier? To save a President? To save face? This is one of the great moral debates of our era. One of Meryl Streep's best performances. She didn't touch her hair once! The direction and performances were generally all understated and subtle.Rent it, download it, watch it. Well worth the time.
jedimasterwampa Totally agree with some of the reviews for this movie. about an hour into it I just asked myself "what am i watching?" i didn't continue the movie after that i was so bored and the dialog was so slow and had no meaning to it that i just couldn't watch any longer. i read the spoilers reviews and i am glad i didn't watch the rest of it. most of the acting was really dull too everyone trying to be dead eyed and serious especially the main character and it just seemed out of place with no real back round other than hes an analyst. also i did not really care what happened to the prisoner character even though he has a family because they never showed him with his family. so in all i just did not feel this movie other than being super bored.
riddick-danish WOW having seen the movie recently I was amazed throughout the movie, it had emotions, thrills, drama and characters you care for.Was that really Reese Witherspoon?? She acted brilliantly and so did every actor in the movie, ensemble was really good and had good chemistry between them. I was shocked with the ending, the flow of the movie was nonlinear but not for 1 second did I felt it was nonlinear, great editing.Final Analysis:1. Story - 8/102. Acting - 8/103. Thrill - 9/104. Score - 7/105. Direction and Cinematography - 8/10
