Hellen I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
SparkMore n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.
Kayden This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
krocheav 'Reservation Road' is a film of considerable power. Most all performances are first grade, especially Phoenix & Ruffalo, as is the adaptation of John Burnhan Schwartz's book for the screen. Both book writer and director worked together on the tour-de-force screenplay. Oscar winner, Irish born Director Terry George (Hotel Rwanda) certainly knows how to put across feelings of guilt and justice - having been imprisoned in Belfast for 6years over his consorting with members of the Irish Republic Socialist Party. Three years later George and his wife forged a new life in America. They returned to Ireland for various film projects. This tragic story takes place in leafy Stamford Connecticut and makes good use of this beautiful setting to convey its shattering situation - much of which is brought about by pressure upon weekend visiting dad (Ruffalo) to get his beloved son back to his mother on time. Perhaps there maybe a little too much use of coincidence and it would have been a touch more satisfying to have a little more closure for Ruffalo's troubled character but, the overall outcome is certainly powerful and fully involving. For lovers of fine drama this Road offers compelling traveling.
SnoopyStyle College professor Ethan Learner (Joaquin Phoenix), his wife Grace, their son Joah and daughter Emma (Elle Fanning) stop at a gas station late at night. Josh gets out. Dwight Arno (Mark Ruffalo) accidentally runs him over and drive away. Dwight is a divorced dad afraid of losing the limited custody of his son. Ethan is impatient for progress in the police investigation. He hires lawyers and Dwight turns out to be an associate in the firm. As the investigation tightens, the question becomes what what Ethan do when he finds the perpetrator. The actors are some of the best. The material is an unrelenting grind. It insists on pounding the emotional darkness. It is heavy. It also refuses to take sides. However, the crushing load doesn't lead to a satisfying ending. It's a long straight grind with some terrific actors doing good work. The ending could have gone several different ways but it seems to have taken the straight ahead main road.
sheepmonk2000 This film held a poor rating on the rotten tomatoes review website, and so I was somewhat sceptical when making my purchase. However, I'm a big fan of Mark Rufffalo and so I thought I'd give it a whirl. And boy was I glad I did. This movie is moving, highly emotive, sad, poignant, dramatic and most of all very involving. The film is beautifully shot, exquisitely paced and not one minute did I find myself getting bored as the acting on the screen was some of the most absolving work I've seen from an ensemble cast for a very long time. My only complaint, in fact is that the terrific Jennifer Connelly didn't get more time in front of the camera, as I felt she brought a real sense of authenticity and delicacy to her character that I haven't seen from her before - and I was very impressed with her performance. Mark Ruffalo also played what appeared to be a very convoluted role brilliantly well, as did Joaquin Phoenix who juggled the many conflicts within his character expertly. Each of the main three cast members brought added depth to their roles and layers of complexities to their characters that I felt was simply marvellous. So to conclude, this film is a triumph both in direction and purpose and in characterisation. I would definitely recommend this film to anyone reading this review as although it is sad it's also an extremely original/credible take on what is understandably some very difficult subject matter. 6/10 (3*)
Ludwig_von_Mises I could easily rate a hundred movies a day on here, and it would take a good month to go through all the movies I've seen (much less television episodes). With about half of those movies, I think to myself, 'This is that movie I'm thinking about, isn't it?'. Perhaps forty percent more I can distinctly remember having seen, and a few minor plot elements, but no more. Only a percent or two of those movies are truly memorable - are ones that you find yourself quoting (i.e. "Go ahead, make my day", etc.) This movie, however, falls somewhere between those two places.I can remember watching this movie. I can remember quite a bit of it, despite having watched it months ago - probably a whole lot better than I can remember the other movies I watched at that time. I can also remember having been enthralled by the film. And yet, for the life of me, I cannot possibly remember why I liked it so much. Had I rated this title the day I watched it, I'd have probably given it ten stars; yet, after only a few months, the reasoning has completely escaped me. I typically give this type of movie a seven star rating, but something tells me it was far better than your average similar-themed drama. The plot was good - with a tad too much irony, as is common in most Hollywood films. (It's not much of a SPOILER, but I'll list it as a SPOILER alert because I wouldn't have wanted to know had I read a review before having watched this movie.) The man who hits and kills Joaquin's character's son is the same lawyer whom Joaquin hires later on. Out of all the lawyers to be found in whatever city you are in (they make up a good 50 pages of my local telephone directory), he had to hire his son's killer. Sure, without that touch of irony, the movie wouldn't have been half as good as it was, yet something about it still, though making the movie, ruined it as well.Anyway, this is definitely a movie I'd recommend (and have recommended) to anybody looking for a good, heartfelt drama.
