It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.

It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.

This movie brings back so many childhood memories with the awesome music, skating contest and clothes. I love the Father/Son relationship in this movie so much. Their heartfelt talk touches my heart every time I hear it- its a great family movie, lots of fun throughout the film. The actors/actresses are outstanding. This is a classic that never gets old in my home. Sweetness is a very handsome young man, his character reminds me of the king of our old rink in Cali world on wheels. It will make you want to get up and dance/ skate its an awesome feel good movie, any movie that has Megan and Jurnee together is a winning combination. They are solid separately but its always fabulous to watch them together. These 2 ladies have a timeless/ageless beauty and the big screen loves them- talent overflows in this film. Love it

"Roll Bounce" is a very good movie. The only bad thing about the movie is the vulgar hip-hop language but it is acceptable because most of these roller skating maniacs in the flick were teenagers who were starting to adore the world of what would be called hip-hop--which was more than just a dance form---it had its own type of style and language. The rest of the movie was pleasing."Roll Bounce" definitely has a taste of "Saturday Night Fever" with some of not only the great disco hits in its soundtrack, but also some of the 1970's R and B hits at the time. The song "Barracuda" is also played---but it has absolutely nothing to do with the "Barracuda Hideout" depicted in "Fever."I was a partial fan of the roller-skating-disco craze in the 1980s. There used to be a club in Chicago called "The Loop Roller Disco" near Halsted and 95th St. I also went to a similar roller rink in Markham, IL. I remember almost all of the stuff "Roll Bounce" gives to the viewer as I experienced for myself in the roller rink in person--the moving colorful lights in the rink area, a deejay in a low-sounding voice giving all of the skaters something new to do (for example, "skate backwards") and all of the skaters skating around counterclockwise (almost always) in their attempt to create clean, good fun. Both clubs, however, went out of business in the mid-1980s when the disco craze completely fizzled out for other sub-genres of pop and rock music that were waiting to fill the void. A few dialogue sequences in "Roll Bounce" talk about something about the South Side of Chicago--once I heard them, I was hooked to reminisince a variation of the disco dance craze that was short-lived---even if it (the dance) was on roller skates and not platform shoes."Roll Bounce" also has a taste of the flicks "Beat Street" and even "Flashdance" because some of the roller skaters added some break dancing skills on the wooden rink on their skates. Moreover, "Roll Bounce" is more vivacious than "Beat Street" because "Roll Bounce" has more dance sequences.

This movie brought back a lot of fond memories of the skating rink. It is definitely better than the average score given on IMDb. Despite some adult language by the teens in this movie, the story is light-hearted and tender. Bow Wow Shad Gregory Moss is definitely following in the steps of Will Smith in acting. He's a true talent! This is a family must see for parents 35 to 45 with teen children. A lot of "Awe, man, I used to have one of those/did that" moments: the Atari, the inchworm toy scooter, sissy bar bikes; the all skate, the couples skate, the lady's choice skate, trying not to fall down, learning how to skate backwards, popping the water blisters so you'll be ready to skate next time; young love and young lust without sex; the staying out all day in the neighborhood with your friends during the summertime and not going home until the streetlights flick on. That was the last generation to enjoy childhood innocently - that was my childhood! If you were a child in the late 70's and loved to skate, you will love this movie!

I have seen this movie for like the 5th time. I think it is an awesome movie.Good movie for the kids, no sex or harsh language. One bad word in the whole movie and trust me most kids hear that word ever day I remember the age of roller disco and the movie brought back some really cool memories. My daughter loves BOW WOW and she has watched it several times with me. My husband, who mind you did not want to see it, actually enjoyed the movie.I laughed and i cried and put on my skates and tried to roller disco. Being in the roller derby, that was a given. Bow Wow was great in the movie. I would suggest this movie to anyone, whether they grew up with roller disco, have heard of roller disco or have never heard of roller disco. Roller disco will come back one day just like the roller derby did.. Go Harrisburg Area Roller Derby
