Robert Ballard has been living and breathing the Titanic since he was part of the team that discovered it in 1985. In Save the Titanic With Bob Ballard, he revisits the iconic ship in an entirely different way—from the perspective of those who set sail on it some 100 years ago. Ballard travels to the shipyards of Northern Ireland to retrace the path of the doomed ship from its very incarnation. Throughout his journey, Ballard is driven by one personal question—will the Titanic survive another 100 years? As evidence mounts that the ship is under siege by natural forces, careless visitors, and even rogue salvage operators, the man who found it teams with the families of victims and survivors to protect the legacy of history’s most famous ship.

ChicDragon It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.
Ezmae Chang This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
Nicole I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
Cassandra Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
Michael_Elliott Save the Titanic with Bob Ballard (2012) *** 1/2 (out of 4)Very good documentary has Bob Ballard trying to do two things. The first is to track down family members of the Guarantee Men, the nine men who had the honor of being on the Titanic and all nine would end up dying on the ship. Also, Ballard takes a look at the various damage being down to the ship by those who are taking subs to it, landing on it and doing damage not only to the ship but also stealing items that are down there for the black market. Fans of the tragic event will certainly enjoy this documentary that shines a light on some new topics without having to repeat too many stories. Yes, we've heard about the Guarantee Men from other documentaries but it was certainly great getting to hear from some of their relatives, mostly grandchildren, who share some personal stories that they've been told but they also share some items that were left to them including a post card that one man sent his family just before boarding the ship. The portion dealing with items being taken from the ocean floor and sold will probably be a hot debate depending on which side you're on. I know many people are against taking the items while others think that they're not doing anyone any good down on the ocean floor. Ballard shares his thoughts on the matter and also points out damage that has been done to the ship by those simply going down there to make money. At just under an hour this documentary is extremely entertaining and I think it does a good job at giving us new stories and not just the same stuff that we've seen countless times before.
