Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.
Married Baby
Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

This movie is what it is: direct to video low budget horror comedy. It doesn't pretend to be anything more, and is so gleefully, utterly stupid that if you are like me and can appreciate that sort of thing, you will find some entertainment in watching it. It's basically an amalgam of "Carrie" and 'Dark Night of the Scarecrow' in a "Children of the Corn" type setting. It's told in flashback by a young guy determined to give his buds a good scare. The back story is that Lester Dwervick (Tim Young) was a high school oddball treated like crap by almost everybody in the world, including jerky jocks, a slutty mother, and a bitchy teacher. Poor Lester has to watch while the girl he likes, Judy (scream queen Tiffany Shepis, who's easy to watch as always) kisses another guy and then when his mom is getting it doggy style from a local lowlife. Said lowlife then pursues Lester and strangles him to death while a scarecrow watches. Before too long Lester has been reincarnated inside the scarecrow and proceeds to go about administering violent vengeance. And this is all done while cracking jokes in Freddy Krueger fashion. I *told* you this got pretty stupid. But it's a fun and engaging sort of stupid, hard to resist for this fan of B horror. It's definitely got its moments, such as a deputy getting weak kneed at the sight of a victim while the boys who found the body profess to be more intrigued than anything. The scarecrow (played by Todd Rex, also the scarecrow designer and stunt coordinator) does come up with some gut busting dumb lines, while much of the acting is *exactly* as bad as people would expect. That said, it's still very amusing bad acting. (If there's one thing this movie is not, it's boring.) Now, it could have used some nudity to spice it up a bit more, and the kills would have benefited from showing more detail, but overall this is enjoyable stuff with a refreshingly short running time. Even so, the movie does feel padded at times and does have a rather slow end credit crawl. The bottom line is, if one can tolerate blatantly humorous genre junk, they can have a good time watching this. Seven out of 10.

First off I'll be the first to admit that the scarecrow himself is quite a bit over-the-top. A toned down maybe less acrobatic scarecrow would've made this movie much less cheesy. But overall I think it's one of the better B-movies. Tiffany Shepis is absolutely wonderful, not to mention incredibly beautiful. Though this movie is missing the all-important nude factor, there are several other movies at which to view her. But here she gets all evil-hotness, especially towards the end as she's walking away from the engulfed scarecrow. Also Richard Elfman does a great job as sheriff and as the drunk boyfriend. Yes it's a low budget B-movie. But out of all of them I've seen, this is definitely one of my very top favorites.

As some reviews have already said. This movie isn't the most amazing thing created. It has some really bad acting and a very weak plot line that gets confusing at times. Besides that i enjoyed it...i like b grade movies...i don't know if the directors were going for the b grade aspect when creating this piece of fine art but i seemed to enjoy myself watching it.The actor playing the scarecrow did an amazing job and must have some mighty fine gymnastic experience and basically steals the movie, though its wouldn't be that hard considering he is the main character in the title. The movie isn't that bad...its just b grade...there are some laughs and some gross out bits...not for everyone.I enjoyed it. Though nothing beats the old school "scarecrows" movie.

Very nice development of story and characters in the first 10 minutes or so, and Tiffany is great to watch, but when Lester becomes the Scarecrow, it becomes a stupid and simple ordinary teenage nerd revenge melodrama, completely pointless, except to the nerds who can identify with Lester and who wish they could become immortal scarecrows, but are destined to end up lesser mortals. A high kill quotient that basically makes no sense but to thrill the pea-brained violence junkies who exist on make-believe mayhem in video games and these type of trash movies. A much better exercise in nerd revenge is the hard to find Twisted Brain, with a better realized teacher murder scene. And then at the end credits we are treated to a "thanks for the inspiration" to several great horror directors such as Argento, Romero, Craven, Hooper, etc, who all must be cringing to see that they are being thanked by these moronic horror film production posers.
