Far from Perfect, Far from Terrible

Clever, believable, and super fun to watch. It totally has replay value.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

I am very open when it comes to movies, especially horror movies. There was a time I would watch anything, thinking it _might_ be good. The ratings might be wrong. But this movie right here is absolutely not worth watching. It is incredibly bad. It is not entertaining at all. Shoestring budget? More like, pebble caught in the sole of your shoe-budget. I don't mind low budgets, as long as the result is good. Here the result is not good. There is nothing about this movie making it worth watching. There are some effects, and they might be the worst I have ever seen. They are so, very very bad. And no, I don't think the movie is made to be bad, it's just made to hopefully earn a couple bucks off people willing to give it a chance. Which you shouldn't.It is so bad, so boring. Never watch it. It has no good qualities.

Watching "Scarecrow Slayer" is a highly unpleasant experience. The acting is completely devoid of emotion, the scenes look as though they were edited together by a tree branch, and the deaths in the film contain no originality or coherence. I recall an episode of the children's television series "Goosebumps" that contained scarecrows, and it was far scarier and more intense than this movie. One would expect something interesting from Tony Todd aka "The Candyman" at the very least, but he fails to make the plot interesting in the slightest. His deranged ramblings about scarecrows and his father's untimely death at the hands of a cursed scarecrow are about as interesting as watching butter melt. I consider myself an avid fan of b-movies, c-movies, and even z-movies, but this wreck of a horror film is best avoided at all costs. It offers nothing in the way of cheap thrills or occasional accidental humor that these types of films are usually good for.

I'm sorry if any of you liked it (I hope none of you can admit to that), but this was by far THE WORST horror film I've seen in a long time. It looks very convincing on a shelf and even the pictures on the back make the movie look quite menacing, but after the first 5 minutes into it its like you can't believe you threw about 3 or 4 bucks down the drain. In no way do you ever care about these characters in the least bit. The effects do not help advance the plot but rather make you wonder why they even used effects. And this movie is a lot like a teenager exploitation slasher film aside from the fact they decided to make it on the farm. How original. What got me the most was that I couldn't even laugh at any of it it was so bad. There is a line between funny and extremely awful and this movie has surpassed that line. If you are a veteran horror fan I do not suggest you add this to your collection or attempt to watch it. You will feel violated and sick after wards. The acting is appalling, the effects are worthless and the "monster" isn't even believable as far as costume goes. You feel like its some random snuff film compiled by some rich kids that don't know anything about film or cinema in general. Like someone just had money to waste. This movie was terrible and I hope you never get the pleasure of seeing it.

First of all there are good movies, bad ones, and those in between...this falls in the bad category. The plot is as wobbly as a bowl of Jello... it falls apart from the very start. Tony Todd the veteran actor whom portrayed CANDYMAN is the only well known here and is also an associate producer of the film. With this film I think Todd jumped into a pool of sharks, so to speak as this is the worst movie he has been involved in yet.Complete with bad acting and faces you'll soon forget, this film has all the things that equal bad. The Scarecrow costume by Todd Rex returns and so does he as the Scarecrow...but this time, it doesn't seem so cool anymore as it did in "Scarecrow" The blood and CGI is some of the worst in film history, I had thought i'd seen bad but certainly not as bad as this. The only face i'd like to remember from this is Tamie Sheffield, as she is beautiful and was once a pro wrestler by the name of "Sandy" in the all female federation WOW. She has since starred in movies such as Jim Wynorski's CHEERLEADER MASSACRE.As for Tony Todd, I certainly hope he can resurrect his career to what it once was I hear there's a 3rd film...i'm almost afraid to check it out.Rick Blalock
