Freaktana A Major Disappointment
Edwin The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
ma-cortes Ariadna (Leticia Dolera) , a trapeze artist wishes to have a baby by means of artificial insemination . She goes to an artificial insemination clinic where Ariadna is dealt with a doctor called Serafin (Ernesto Alterio) . Then , Serafin falls in love for Ariadna . But Ariadna really wants to pregnant herself and have a child for her twin sister Penelope (Leticia Dolera) . This causes in Serafin a peculiar sense of paternity and decides to take the baby for himself from the nursery . This agreeable comedy contains lots of humor , a love story , entertainment and amusement . This is a slightly funny film with entertaining events , giggles , emotion and a charming romance . The film moves in fits and starts most of which would be desirable , with more traps the viewer resists any kind, and some moments of enjoyment and others quite a few embarrassing . It contains several touches of humor and irony , especially at the role performed by Ernesto Alterio . This is a typical Spanish comedy from the 2000s with the usual ingredients such as enjoyable humor , social habits , relationships among people and amusement . The characters in this film are all lovable despite being rather pathetic and silly . The picture attempts to spread optimism about the events of life , births and love , with its amusing sides but also including some deceptions . Duo protagonist is very sympathetic , Ernesto Alterio and Leticia Dolera give likable as well as attractive acting . Support cast is pretty good such as Héctor Alterio as Emilio , María Isbert as old lady , María Pujalte as Gloria , Malena Alterio as nurse and Janfri Topera as Barman . And cameo by the same filmmaker ,Inés París , as Natalia . Atmospheric and lively musical score by Christopher Slaski , adding some enjoyable songs . As song ¨Pobre Serafín¨ being Written & Performed by Andy Changoand Background Vocals by Ariel Rot . Including a spotless pictorial cinematography shot in Madrid by Nestor Calvo (Atomica , Lobo , Nos Miran , Lobos De Washington , Años Barbaros , Miguel and William) , showing splendidly the evocative scenarios, as he photographs almost perfectly the elements of each shot , every sequence , every space . This motion picture "Semen, a Love Sample" was professionally written and directed by Ines Paris and Daniela Féjerman . Ines Paris is a writer and director, known for Maitena: Estados Alterados (2008), Miguel y William (2007) , A Mi Madre Le Gustan Las Mujeres (2002) Se Quien Eres (2000) . And Daniela Féjerman is a writer and director, known for Sindrome Ulises , Montaña Rusa , Siete Minutos and this ¨Semen¨ . Rating : 6 . Acceptable and passable . Well worth watching . The flick will appeal to Spanish comedy buffs .
daniel Carbajo López Serafín is a strict-obsessed with order doctor that works in a artificial insemination clinic. When he meets Ariadna, a crazy trapezist, he must inseminate her, but, due to destiny, he must use his own semen, which will cause to born in him an unusual (for him) sense of paternity, which, being totally inefficient in manners with people, will cause a bunch of theoretically funny situations (well, there's someone that is funny). The plot is silly and absurd, but it is not upsetting and the actors make a decent job in their lack of logic. Many things happen because its a movie, but its a kind of Spanish absurd comedy in the style of "Father of the bride": an ingenious comedy that only wants you to relax during 90 min and make you smile a little. It's pleasant to see, but it is not very good.
eve_waessle Being Spanish in a foreign country, sometimes I found myself excusing the Spanish cinema, as 'not everything is Almdovar', and invite people to watch other Spanish films. This is not the case, this is not the kind of film that I'd recommend. This is one of the most boring films that I've seem in ages. The plot is nonsense, even when at the beginning seems to be different, the story development is ridiculous.Ernesto and Héctor Alterio, saved the film, the actress, Leticia Dolera, who is coming from TV, is not at the same level and the main problem of this film is, the lack of supporting actors. It seems too much responsibility for the three of then to hold the interest in the story and whether she plays twins, and we could count it as four, both sisters are the same, there's no difference in their characters at all.Concerning supporting actors, we can underline Maria Isbert and Maria Pujalte, but both of them are such a small interventions, that something is missing.6 out of 10 for father and son, 2 out of 10 for the twins. 4 out of 10 for the film. Spanish cinema is not all Almodovar, but I also hope that they haven't turn it into that kind of easy-silly films.
