ChicRawIdol A brilliant film that helped define a genre
Usamah Harvey The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
Payno I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

navinder-j-singh This movie was the game changer for the Punjabi film Industry. This movie came into cinemas, when the Punjabi film industry was its record low. This movie provides the propulsion to the producers, directer's to make new movies. It enticed huge chunk of money toward punjabi movies. Outcome is in front of us, after this harbhajan mann got some handsome movies with decent budget. In total, this was the movie which takes the Pollywood from rags to riches.Lets talk about this movie. The movies revolves around the lovers(Gurdas mann and Divya dutta) and display how the separation of India and Pakistan affected the life of the people of different religions. The massacres happened during 1947 vanishes complete villages, what left was only the pain of those who lost their families and the loved ones. In similar fashion, Buta singh who married a Muslim women named zainab and rescued her from the goons, lost her when she was forcefully sent to the Pakistan. The picture depicts the value of love for a lover.Considering the time in which this movie came and the budget of the movie, it is a complete entertainment. Songs are awesome, any way if singer is Gurdas mann then you will not be disappointed. Direction was good. If you want to watch a punjabi movie then i believe this one is mandatory for you.
manavjotsingh This is one of the most realistic movies based on partition. It inspired a lot of copies but I think none came close in terms of acting, story or Music. Great acting by Gurdass Mann and Divya Dutta gave this movie a very strong backbone. Music by both Gurdass Mann and late Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan make the entire experience of this movie a joyful one. It hits some very emotional chords with people who went through the partition. Cross border love is not something we come across very often in the sub continent. The story revolves around the life of Botta Singh Played exceptionally well by Gurdas Mann. Movie sounds much better than the latter ones based on the same theme cause it is done in Punjabi the language of the region. It is a must see. If you liked this movie you would like Pinjar and also Train to Pakistan if you can find the latter one.
bnanno Solid movie based upon a real life story at the time of Partition, about Boota Singh (Gurdas Mann) married to a Muslim girl who is forcibly deported to Pakistan in the mess that was the partition, leaving behind her daughter. He eventually goes in search of her, but she repudates him under pressure. Boota Singh dies, and in fact his grave is still in Lahore. Excellent work by all actors, Gurdas Mann is noted for quality products, and this is one of them. A joy for Punjabi language lovers, with nice locations, and very good, of course! music. A must-see.
