TrueJoshNight Truly Dreadful Film
Tedfoldol everything you have heard about this movie is true.
Konterr Brilliant and touching
Stoutor It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.
dolly_the_ye-ye_bird The worst movie I've seen in a while...and the most entertaining!! While there is nothing really great about this film from the acting to the plot, it's insanely amusing! This is another film that falls into the 'It's so bad that it's good' category. You think the theme song is bad? Wait till you get a load of those 'Maneater' vests! They look like a gang of 9 year olds made them! The plot is almost too simple to even be called a plot. The sex and violence are so fake that it's embarrassing. As usual in these kind of youth-sploitation films, the bad ass teens are totally laughable. With all that said...I still found this movie extremely amusing to watch and I actually enjoyed every minute of it!! It's one of those movies that I'm sure I'll enjoy more each time I see it! So bottom line, when I say it's the worst I've seen in ages, what I really mean is that I loved it! Now go out and watch it!!!
The_Void Herschell Gordon Lewis earned the title 'The Godfather of Gore' for his gory horror films, and as something of a fan of the schlock director; I like to see Herschell doing what he does best. She-Devils on Wheels generally doesn't get a good word said about it even among Lewis' own fans, and that's hardly surprising as this isn't Herschell at his best or doing what he does best. In fact, it seems more like Herschell was trying to rip off the great Russ Meyer - the only difference being that Meyer did this sort of thing well and HG doesn't! The plot revolves around a gang of man-hating female bikers that ride around and terrorise a town. This isn't bad as a premise, but Herschell fails to implement much action, gore or interest into the film. Meyer would have added some breasts which would have at least spiced it up a little; but sadly the film is lacking even that most basic element. It's really hard to believe that this effort is from the same director who bestowed on us legendary trash classics such as Two Thousand Maniacs and The Gore Gore Girls. She-Devils on Wheels is a completely disappointing experience and doesn't come recommended!
gwinn23 I'm sorry, but trying to apply standard critiques to this awesome movie just shows that you ain't a biker. Yeah, it's campy: yeah, it dosen't have enough sex or gore to please fans of the director. And yeah, the acting and dialogue is crap. But otherwise it's bordering on hilarious. This is a hoot, and anybody who's lived on two wheels accepts it for what it is: a bunch of hot chicks in wigs riding classic bikes. Hell, I'll watch it over several times just for the footage of that FLA. Next to "Hells Angels on Wheels and "The Wild Ones", you can't do much better. Want sex, gore and rock & roll? Don't waste yer time...but for classic bad girls on classic bikes, it's a must see.
swellzombie She-Devils on Wheels was. to say the least, disappointing. The title leads you to believe that these female bikers called the Man-Eaters, are hard, fist swingin', booze drinkin' chicks! Nope. They really bland when you see them. Maybe for that time in the 60's, they were something crazy. But when you do a movie about biker women who are supposed to be really tough, why hold back and make it realistic? I think that Hershel Gordon Lewis really held back. There were some good gory moments, the fight scene between the Man-Eaters and the hot roders was pretty good. I just think that these chicks should have been more hard-core. There must have been a tougher gang of biker-chicks that Lewis could have made a movie about.
