Excellent, a Must See

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

In Berlin, in the Christmas eve, Julia (Maria Schrader) is alone, divided between the love for her mate Christian (Mark Schlichter) and the lust for her lover Frank (Jürgen Vogel). Christian is a cop and a sensitive and unsecured man, who has just decided to leave Julia and traveled alone to Paris. However, once in Paris, he misses Julia, and phones many times along the Christmas night to her. Frank is not brilliant, is unable to read a Stephen King's novel, but he is a sex machine in bed, giving sexual pleasure to Julia. Julia seems to be decided to break with Frank and stay with Christian, but her sexual desire does not allow her to come up to a decision. This weird and erotic German movie about a triangle of love has good performances and direction, but the story does not work very well. `Sexy Lover' has the same premise (a woman dating more than one man, having troubles to decide who would be the `man of her life'), and is an excellent black humor movie. The genre of `Stille Nacht' is not well defined, and in the end, it is lost among erotic, romance, drama and comedy. Having a better screenplay, it could have been a great movie. My vote is five.Title (Brazil): `Confissões na Noite' (`Confessions in the Night')

On a Christmas night, Julia, in her Berlin flat, is torn between her boyfriend Christian, who argues with her on the phone from a hotel room in Paris; and Frank, to whom she is terribly attracted but can't relate to intellectually. This love triangle becomes a dangerous game, in which a bunch of conflicting emotions makes Julia reason her relationship with the two men.A daring, intense, erotic film, claustrophobic-like at times, masterfully directed by Dani Levy and featuring a wonderful performance by Maria Schrader. My rating- 10 out of 10
