If you want to see a Negro RAJINI, a Caucasian RAJINI, RAJINI performing daredevil stunts, RAJINI performing slapstick comedy, breath taking dance moves by RAJINI, an Emotional RAJINI, the philanthropist RAJINI, The Stylish RAJINI, The "Villain" RAJINI and finally the ultimate mass hero, the super star RAJINI - This is the movie for you. Rajini being chiseled by director shankar who has packaged whole of the above ingredients into a wafer thin plot and made a wholesome entertainer that leaves you yearning for more of the one and only RAJINI diet. A must watch for those who require a stress buster after a hard grind and a decent entertainer for those who seek time pass, an entertainer which requires you to keep your brain safe in a locker and just play the DVD, sit in front of the monitor and ENJOY!!!!!!

I know people love Rajini, i know people love Sivaji because it is tailor-made for Rajini fans with style, and i know Shankar's product has given more grandeur to Rajini's superstar status. I could rate this movie higher because i did enjoy the fun element in it, but i guess my expectations were way above this. Well, why shouldn't they be high? Th director is Shankar, and the last thing i expected is for him to come with a wafer-thin storyline (the story's no show at all). Next is two disturbing facts. As a movie-goer of Tamil films, i'm getting concerned because of Shriya's inclusion in this movie. She, i have to say, is crap. She is not a proper actress, and the biggest problem, she only has skin show and can't modulate in Tamil. Tamil cinema will only progress further if they start paying respect to their own language and start at least hire actresses who can modulate the language properly, instead of giving tax exemptions to Tamil titles. Secondly, this is the MOST expensive Tamil movie ever to date (Dasavatharam is more expensive, and will take over once it releases), so what if an avid movie-goer asks 'what is the most expensive movie you guys ever made?'. I'd have to show him or her 'Sivaji', which by production, theme, storyline, and quality, and even performance, is not at all a good movie. This is not a movie that can make an Indian hold his head high up and shut the mouths of Westeners who stereotype us as being unable to make real quality products. It's like Shankar flushed all the 70 crores given to him? Where is the money gone? Songs of course...

Sivaji is the most expensive movie made in Indian film industry and definitely worth watching. It had satisfied one and all and lived up to the huge expectation which the media developed months before its release. The movie plot is simple and handled well by Dir. Shankar (actually it's the same plot he uses in most of the movies Hero fighting against evils in society). Sivaji is a Wealthy NRI returning to his homeland to do some good to poor people. He dreams to give high quality education, health care at cheaper prices for lower class people. This plan is not liked by the local hot shots in the city and they use political power to oust Sivaji. How he rises back against the odds in achieving what he desired is told in 185 minutes racy presentation and splendid narration. Rajinikanth , the superstar of Indian Cinema plays the title role Sivaji. He has shown 100% interest and dedication to this role and excelled in all departments like Stunts, Dance , Comedy , Style etc.The first half of the movie has some funnier moments like trying to change his skin color, ragging Shreya's family to socialize with his family are worth a mention. Rajini and Vivek did definitely bring the house down. The post interval portion has some great confrontation scenes of Rajini and Suman. New York episode is short and sweet. Stunt master Peter Hein deserves a pat for the climax stunt sequence. Shreya has nothing much like all Shankar heroines except to look good. Vivek has a meatier role in this movie and has done with élan. Suman , Manivannan, Hanifa provide ample support. Music is the biggest highlight of the movie with all songs turning out to be the chart-busters. Style brilliantly choreographed by Prabhu Deva and Thee song choreographed by Lawrence are delight to watch in the screen. Art Direction by Thotta Tharani is fantastic for Sahana song. KV Anand's cinematography is top class capturing the different moods of the film and showing Rajini better than ever.Rajini's hair dresser Sandrin, Costume Designer Manish Malhotra and make-up woman Bhanu had excelled in their work and show the Boss glamorous than ever. Rajini fans are heaping laurels on them and Shankar for this effort. Any one who might want to agree something on a movie would be the looks of Rajinikanth. Yep. He is dashing and debonair. Shankar has handled the screenplay well and sharp Dialogues by Sujata has helped him a lot. You feel the sense of anger, cry and outburst of common man's emotion in India feeling why India has not become super power. Society filled with corruption, negligence, black money make the common man feel India will never change and one man fights for it. Though socio fantasy it definitely pricks you.Well now the question does the movie has minuses. There might be but nothing comes in mind now. You feel satisfied and happy when you come out of the theater and that is common for any Rajini film. Its Déjàvu. He doesn't or need not do experimentation like other actors who make movies for to quench their thirstiness. This man is simple and tries to entertain people who walk into movie hall to forget their problems. He excels in that. Boss- continue to keep entertaining us Sivaji - The Boss gets 10/10.
