It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

RELEASED IN 2012 and directed by Tom Vaughan, "So Undercover" stars Miley Cyrus as a teen private investigator who's hired by an FBI agent (Jeremy Piven) to go undercover at a sorority. Mike O'Malley plays her dad, Josh Bowman her potential beau and Matthew Settle her professor. This was my first exposure to Miley as an actress (I've never seen Hanna Montana, for instance) and she's effective for this kind of role, a formidable no-nonsense detective with wit and feminine charisma. I'm not a fan of hers in any sense, but she's easily the most all-around attractive female in the cast, which is saying a lot since the events take place at a sorority. Or perhaps it's saying that the rest of the female cast is subpar as far as sex appeal goes. Other than that, they're all just fine. Bottom Line: This is a fun detective drama/adventure at a university highlighted by Cyrus as the protagonist; nothing more, but nothing less. The movie runs 94 minutes and was shot entirely in Louisiana. Writers: Allan Loeb & Steven Pearl. ADDITIONAL CAST: Eloise Mumford (Sasha), Megan Park (Cotton), Lauren McKnight (Alex), Kelly Osbourne (Becky), Alexis Knapp (Taylor) and Morgan Calhoun (Hunter). GRADE: B-

Molly Morris (Miley Cyrus) is a private investigator working with her dad ex-Dallas cop Sam (Mike O'Malley). FBI Agent Armon Ranford (Jeremy Piven) is working a case against the Georgian mafia and he needs her to watch over college girl Alex Patrone (Lauren McKnight). Alex is the daughter of an important witness and she may be holding some evidence. Sam continues to gamble and Molly needs money to pay off the debt. The grimy Molly has to infiltrate a sorority. This starts off as somewhat serious. That could actually work but it goes kind of silly. The girls are either Bs or really stupid. This feels like there are two movies trying to come out on top. It's not silly enough to be Disney teen frivolity. It's definitely not serious but the camera sometimes use shaky hand held style. The styles are all wrong and conflict with each other. It's like somebody thought that Hannah Montana needs to be filmed by Paul Greengrass. If they wanted to do a realistic movie, that would be interesting to see. It would be like Veronica Mars goes to college. Also the name of the movie is horrible and somebody should be fired for it.

Well this is a must see really great movie! it is well thought out and well planned! Miley who played Molly/Brook went undercover for a man who claimed he was with the FBI. But then it takes a surprising turn! I loved that the Kappa girls or as they would call themselves sisters helped out and came together to help out a fellow sister...well now you all see the saying never leave a man behind well in this case they never left a sister behind!...I also loved that Nicholas stuck with her although she smacked him for what he didn't know about some boys wouldn't go near girls after all that!! she also never left the kappa after she finished the job!

In 2000 Sandra Bullock took on the role as Gracie Hart in Miss Congeniality as an FBI agent who has to protect a former contestant from a guy who is trying to kill the hostage that Bullock was protecting. Fast forward in 2012 and Miley Cyrus who I swear is morphing into Lindsay Lohan plays Molly Sims in the not so great but still worth checking out flick SO Undercover. The movie was suppose to be SO BAD it got straight to DVD in the states when it was released.Molly Sims is an average teenager who's dad played by Glee's Mike O Malley used to be a PI but retired due to addiction to gambling. So Molly tracks down love rats and uses a camera to get the love rats who are cheating on their wives. Molly soon meets a FBI agent played by Jeremy Piven who starred in Chasing Liberty with Mandy Moore and Miss Selfridge as the title charcther and hires Molly to go undercover as a college student called Brooke Stonebridge and protect a girl who has connects with the Russian Mafia. So complete with a makeover she goes to college and later has problems of her own when she falls for a cute guy called Nicolas. So all Molly has to figure out is who is after the girl that she is protecting and why??. It could be Cotton, that girl that Molly met after Cotton, the guy Nicolas or could it be someone from outside the college?Overall it was an OK film,in fact I prefer The Last Song as I thought Cyrus was A lot better in that film than here and she doesn't really fit the whole FBI scenario, for a whining teenager YES as an FBI agent NO. The story here is like a carbon copy of Miss Congeniality and it wasn't really THAT funny. Miss Congeniality was A lot better than this teen friendly version. But still it was alright, not the best Miley Cyrus movie but still worth seeing. Also I was kinda shocked over who the culprit was all along I was like are you kidding me THAT person was over it HUH??Still if you like Miley Cyrus then check it out,if not avoid.
