It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

Finished this wonderful piece of animation with a feeling of enrichment in my whole body, because I haven't seen a movie as well animated, written and touching in a long time! I am lost for words, honestly. A mature story told almost without any dialogue from the perspective of the main character of Spirit, who is all kinds of likable. He is brave, strong, protecting of his heard and determined not to bow down to his enemies. He is simply one of the most endearing animated characters I have ever seen. The animated landscapes are also beautiful beyond discription. The blend of CG and traditional animation makes it both grand and colourful. Go see it, you are up for some serious eye-candy! The choice of artist to sing the songs was a little odd at first, but just like the naration it was not done excessively and knew when to let the expressions of the characters do the talking did not ruin any moments. But Hans Zimmers score was epic and grand and added to the moods of the individual scenes. A fantastic movie with a lot of heart and a gresat story about freedom, friendship and nature. Criminally underrated and deserving of more praise. DreamWorks! Make more movies like this!

This animated film tells the story of a wild horse, who is the head of a herd of wild horses. One day, he is captured by western sheriffs, and he does everything he can do struggle free. Along the way, he meets an indigenous person, and they form a special bond."Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron" initially made me really uncomfortable because of the horrible sheriff. He abuses animals, and make them slaves. This type of treatment towards animals is not acceptable nowadays, so I was rather surprised that it got nominated an Oscar award when it contained such a disturbing message.Fortunately, the story gets lightened up, and becomes full of hope. The songs are good. The one thing I do not like is the fact that they use black lines to border the animals, as if it was a children's colouring book. This bugs me as these black lines do not exist in real life!

I don't understand the bad critics you can read in this page, I respect them but I don't understand it. They criticize the movie for being bad propaganda. Well maybe it is (I don't think so) but for me it was one of the finest animations movies I have seen. I remember watching it when I was young and a few months ago I rediscover this magnificent movie and I loved it again. It tells the story of a young horse who is captured and taken away from his homeland to a military fort where he meets a Indian called Little Creek, who will help him to get away from the cavalry and the military forces. The story is not very complicated but is very beautiful. You can give a heart to an animated character without it needing to talk (horses usually don't talk neither they sing). The animation is very well done with a mix of 2D and 3D animations that recreate some of the most beautiful landscapes of the West, but also some of the darkest ones.In the voice roles we had Matt Damon as a narrator for the story, Daniel Studi as Little Creek and James Cromwell as The Colonel. Well, there isn't much dialogue but the small phrases they had were very well dubbed. Their voices helped the animation to give each character true emotions. And the other great thing is the soundtrack. Bryan Adams here sings several songs which have a background message about our home, to discover who we are and about freedom. And also a very special mention to the score crafted by Hans Zimmer in a way that only he's able to do. Giving the images a soul. This movie is one of the best examples of serious animation for more grown people but the little kids will surely enjoy it too a lot. Don't miss this one!

I honestly loved Matt Damon's narrative voice, gee he could narrate for any nature shows like David Attenborough and become more successful in his career! Well i say, he would rather stick with his acting job since he is already successful! The detail of the horses were absolutely beautiful and very well drawn like you would think they were real horses, not kind of cartoony childish horses. They were as they say, picture perfect! The storyline was brilliant too, it never left you wondering what happens next because you know well what happens next like!I love this film and I love Spirit, wonderful family film <3
