I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.

Worth seeing just to witness how winsome it is.

Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano must rescue the kidnapped son of Jabba the Hutt, but political intrigue complicates their mission. Even tho it does have problems with story telling and some characters "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" remains an interesting chapter in the Star Wars Saga it still has a lot of lightsaber fight sequences, some of the jokes were pretty good even tho it was made for children and the dialogue was nice plus Ahsoka Tano does more in this movie than the actual Prequel Trilogy. It does have problems tho like i said with the story which could have been way better although little Hutt was pretty good and funny, having Jabba's Uncle felt a bit unnecessary and the opening intro was a bit weird but overall it was great having to go back to this world before Darth Vader and all this but also it was great to have a "Great" Prequel. (8.8/10)

This is not a Star Wars movie, so it's hard to understand why they tried to label it as one. It takes place in the Star Wars galaxy with characters from the Star Wars movies, but if anything it's a TV-special. It's obviously targeting a much younger crowd than the movies, but I feel you can do this without dumbing down the story to such a degree as this movie does.I don't mind the look of the show/movie, the characters are recognizable, and the style is true to itself. It seems like they tried to use computer animation that would not age too bad - choosing a rubber/plastic look over something more organic. This works best for the robots and the alien characters - the humans ends up feeling more like dolls. The voice actors (some of which are the original actors from the movie!) do an okay job with what they are given, but the lifeless characters are not able to convey the emotions of what is being said. But that's not even the movie's main problem. The movie's problem is that it is very obviously pieced together episodes from a TV-show. The seams are almost showing! Releasing something like this as a "home media" compilation - like they often do with cartoon shows - would make sense. But as a feature length theatrical movie under the Star Wars banner?! Madness.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars to be honest with you feels like it could have been better off as a direct to video release. How this film got a theater release is a mystery. The film took me four tries to watch and after finishing the film finally I can take the time to review the film.I try to keep in mind that this film was gear to a younger crowd it also serve as the pilot to the TV show that would come later. Interesting enough I could be wrong but they took the first episodes written for the series and fuse them together to make this movie. The results are a mix while it does introduce to the characters we know before and new characters.Animation wise for this film does interesting work not bad design for the character models and the effects of the film work for the series to come.Voice acting is a work ranging from good to huh? But there are some pretty funny wise cracks that got me to laugh so there is something for the adults. There is some nice music as well. Also the film does film like a hour and 30 minute TV pilot while I give them points for putting it together they could have made it a Direct to Video or Made for TV movie it just not one strong enough for theatersWhile Star Wars fans will enjoy it and it will work for the younger fans it just the results were not strong with the force as it could have been it's not a bad movie but just could have been moreI give Star Wars: The Clone Wars an 6 out of 10

No really! What was? Well, apart from selling toys, making a ton of cash and pushing their new Clone Wars show, but if a marketing vehicle is what you want, you need to do it much better than this! I literally sat through this entire movie wondering when it was going to start, and then all of a sudden it just ended, with nothing accomplished, nothing developed, no changes in the characters, nothing! So, what's the story? As far as I can make out, it's about Anakin and Obi-Wan as they continue to battle the legions of Driods across the Galaxy. After one battle that consumes 15 minutes of the movie, they're introduced to a young girl Jedi (who's name I can't remember) who is parked on Anakin's shoulders as his apprentice, as well as to spend a majority of her time spewing puns that even Punky Brewster would say were dated! Then, seemingly out of the blue, they're on a rescue mission to rescue the son of Jabba the Hutt, whilst Padme confronts yet another racial stereotype, a Hutt ganglord in the bowels of Coruscant. So from that skimming you can probably point out a lot of the problems with this movie. But there's more to it than just this nonsensical, hashed together story. The animation and design is so weird, with their faces angular and contorted, it's like they were styled with a ruler and a HB Pencil rather than through careful thought and initial sketches. The characters, although names we all know apart from one or two, have absolutely no development, so if you've never seen a Star Wars movie, you'd have no idea who these people are. Other characters such as Count Dooku are shoehorned in at the last minute to try and give us some recognisable faces from Episode II, but apart from that, the added characters are just so wretched and annoying. It truly is amazing how stupid this movie is, in fact it's not a movie, it's a 2 hour cutscene to a video game! Everything's on autopilot, and you expect at any moment to be dropped into the actual gameplay. But instead it ends on probably the weakest note you could muster, Anakin and his apprentice posing for the camera like they were Superman or Batman whilst the credits just pop right out of nowhere! To be honest, I've watched a lot of marketing vehicle movies before, and this is just the bottom of the barrel in terms of creativeness mixed in with selling products. It's boring, it's characters aren't interesting or fun, the story isn't present, the jokes are cheap, the animation and design is confusingly obscure, there really isn't anything you can take home from this movie (apart from the toys they're trying to flog to you!)
