What a beautiful movie!

It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.

"Star Wreck" is a Finnish Finnish-language film from 1992, so this one has its 25th anniversary this year. It was written and directed by Samuli Torssonen and this one is known as "Star Wreck 1" too, so yep it is true that there are several sequels to this one here. But there should actually not even be this one looking at the quality. I think this looked like a film project by a student in the first year when they have to do animated films and are still learning everything from basic. Okay what else is there to say. If you still want to see it, make sure you get subtitles, even if it runs for 4 minutes only. However, the audible side is just as horrible as the visual, so no matter from what perspective you are searching for quality in here: I don't think you will find it and I believe that the already low IMDb rating here is not low enough actually. The only reason this film is somewhat known is of course because of the parallel in the title to what is perhaps the biggest film franchise of all time. A cheap attempt to cash in and I hope Torssonen stepped things up since then and improved considerably in the last quarter of a century. Stay far far away from this one here.

*Spoiler/plot- Star Wreck, 1992. A starship captain's life with his many challenges.*Special Stars- Samuli Torssonen*Theme- Star Trek universe is so large so it can handle endless 'knock-of' fan videos.*Trivia/location/goofs- A fan video from Finland. Originally released on the Internet. then put on DVD in 2005. A fan made video with amateur participants for no money. Earliest version was video shorts(under 30 minutes) 2-D computer animation, while the newer & Later versions were more sophisticated with 3-D animation.*Emotion- This idea was suitable for only a 'short'. The plot is flat, predictable, and slow. Early versions had pirated copyrighted Star Trek music. "Captain Pirk" and "Plingons" and other script changes into clever pseudonyms due to legal restrictions that originally come from the well known trademarked and copyrighted (Paramount/ViaCom) universe of Star Trek.

(contains spoiler at end)Oh my, what an absolutely hilarious film. I had to stop the CD several times because I was laughing so hard.I about split two ribs. Yes, the Finnish was a pain to have to read through the entire movie but it was worth the extra effort. My wife and I are Trekkers and B'5ers to the CORE! We even have attended conventions in uniform and I have 8x10 autographed pictures of EVERY regular Star Trek star from all the genre's along with several B5 stars.(spoiler below) To see the Trek universe collide with the B5 universe was priceless. I wish they made move movies like this (less the subtitles of course).

In this first Star Wreck film we follow Captain Pirk in his ship the Kickstart in a battle with the Plingons. The animation is crude top-down 2D done on computers. It is more reminiscent of old computer demos, where graphics and sounds were used to push computer hardware to its limits. Samuli Torssonen was obviously more interested in telling his story than pushing any limits, and it is somewhat strange to see this knowing how far he took his concept. But that is also what makes it a great fan-flick, mr. Torssonen, though clearly a fan of Star Trek created a sort of anti-Star Trek, where the crew is always swearing and being nasty to each other, and where Captain Pirk is power hungry and generally not very nice :-). Of course, as this is a 4 minute long film it doesn't probe the greatest depths but it is a precursor of better things to come.
