PiraBit if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
BelSports This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
Nayan Gough A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
Benas Mcloughlin Worth seeing just to witness how winsome it is.
rejohnson And I thought 'Dude Where's my Car' was bad. The first 30 minutes is music and one paragraph of talking. How in the hell did HBO put this on. 2nd worst movie ever. Please tell Jeff Bridges not to put a gun to his head and squeeze off, from his brother performance.MacGyver is in it too. Same smug character, It doesn't even relate to the series. Tapper's performance is OK. That's it.Ben Browder acting again is sub-par.I do like the fact that Hollywood has a sense of humor. This is a example to college students on how not to make a movie.
robnels2000 Didn't they do this for the season 8 finally? I swear this is only slightly different Someone goes back in time changes the past to prevent the SGC from being created and the members of SG1 must come together anyway and save the day.I was a HUGE fan of the first 8 seasons of SG1 but when season 9 started and they totally dismissed the System Lord's as a threat and invented a totally lame new enemy, the Ori, then removed Jack O'Neil, one of the best correctors, the show went in to the toilet. This movie just drove in the final nail.I know this premise has been used in almost every Sci-fi show that has even one time travel episode. Here is more proof that there are new ideas in Hollywood. Find a new and original story line for goodness sake.
tedg I remember seeing the original movie and being impressed. In its day it was a risky mix of genres plus the expected overwhelmed by the unexpected. Later I studied the industry and took this film apart in terms of how the concepts were managed. It worked and I know why. Later, the safe parts were made into a lame TeeVee show following the then already lame Star Trek formula. I did not know what to expect coming to this. The first two minutes are an extraordinary tracking shot that sets context, introduces the heroes and establishes the energy of thing. After that, I might as well have been watching William Shatner. In fact, I believe that they hired someone else to direct those first two minutes while a committee of writers was re- engineering the script. There was an opportunity here to do something clever with time travel paradoxes. What we got was Back to the Future" with spaceships and Arctic ice.Ted's Evaluation -- 1 of 3: You can find something better to do with this part of your life.
rivka-6 I was almost a little disappointed. It was a big time film, with almost everything -- but it wasn't conclusive enough even on it's own, let alone for someone who's watched 10 years of stargate. As a part of stargate it was very good. As a final ending, and finishing note for 10 years, it was lacking. It didn't really answer my unanswered questions, you know - the one's you always watch every episode to see if some hint is revealed. The biggest disappointment for me was, that I've really missed Jack O'Neill (or Richard Dean Anderson) being a part of the series, and I was Thrilled when I saw he was in the credits for this one, but then he didn't even have a particularly prominent role. It's totally possible I'm just disappointed because this is the last ting, but I really wanted it to be huge, and make the series feel complete. But they were smart in terms of going back to the basics, and bringing us all back to the really good stargate of those first few seasons.
