A bit overrated, but still an amazing film

Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.

A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.

This movie was so dumb. I watched it because the rating was a 7.1 but how it got that I do not know. It was cheaply made like an old Andy Griffin show and the audio on it was terrible. There was so much background noise it was hard to listen to the actors. Save your time and watch something else because this looked more like a made for lifetime TV show than a real movie. I couldn't believe how bad the acting was and you could almost see the actors reading their lines. I do not know what 10 people reviewed this movie to give it a 7.1 but they must have be family of the director. I just kept waiting for something to happen to make it better but nope.

Not a bad little indie joint, but the constant stream of straight-angle mid-shots and closeups leave the viewer feeling claustrophobic and uncomfortable. I didn't know it was possible to show a baseball game in only mid-shots and closeups but it's done in this one, and it left me literally aching for a nice, wide establishing shot of anything. I watched it hoping for something light but poignant (think "Drinking Buddies" or "Save the Date") and was a little disappointed because the characters seem to lack any sense of humor. That main character's bad attitude could have really used a razor wit, and the best friend needed a boost too. The plot just sort of plods along, is a bit disjointed (where did the random kickball rivalry come from?) and seems to suffer from a genre-identity crisis. That being said the acting wasn't bad and the score/music were fantastic. Nice effort from a bunch of first timers with potential.
