StunnaKrypto Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
CommentsXp Best movie ever!
Stoutor It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.
Abegail Noëlle While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
John Doe This was a really powerful movie to watch and it has a lasting impact on the viewer. The acting and story and directing are all really well done and it really shows the tragedy of after-effects of the war. I give 'Thank You for Your Service' a 8/10
Gordon-11 This film tells the story of several veterans who comes back from Iraq, struggling with their lives that have been torn apart by war.It is clear that the film tells how traumatising war is to the soldiers, and there seems to be inadequate "connection services" to help these soldiers back on track. The story has a lot of haunting moments, where the services don't care about teh veterans but the viewers care deeply about the veterans. It is a sad story that will touch your heart.
johnny-burgundy Thank You for Your Service (2017) This is a biographical war drama film written based on the 2013 non-fiction book of the same name by David Finkel. The film is about posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depicting U.S. soldiers who try to adjust to civilian life. It stars Miles Teller, Haley Bennett, Beulah Koale, Amy Schumer and Scott Haze. It received generally positive reviews from critics, with praise aimed at the cast. Nevertheless, it did poorly at the box office. This is too bad, as it was a solid film, encompassing an important topic. Alas, Hollywood is a business, putting the bottom line, before quality. Expect more big budget monstrosities before another picture like this.
DVR_Brale Seeing Amy Schumer starring I had to restrict myself from immediately giving it a perfect score of one. Thankfully, I gave it a try. Thank You for Your Service seeks to put on screen difficulties veterans face upon return from war zone and in my opinion that was done pretty solid. You don't get to see military combat too much - only several minutes are given to war footage. Instead, entire focus has been placed on common, everyday struggle young veterans face. I'm not from USA, but TYFYS certainly criticizes the way American society treats veterans. The thing I feared the most before seeing it was that it's going to be too pathetic in a way only Americans can make it. Luckily (or strangely), it didn't feel that way at all. This movie is ultimately the story about forgiveness: here you can see how hard can it be to forgive, how devastating effect not being able to forgive can have and how life changing forgiveness can be. If you're in a mood for a war-drama with almost entire emphasis on drama, TYFYS may stay with you for a while.P.S. Bruce Springsteen has made a track called "Military Cadence" they used as a credit song. Be sure to check it out.
