Reviews

Melanie Bouvet The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
Zlatica One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
Aspen Orson There is definitely an excellent idea hidden in the background of the film. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find it.
roseybaby63-59-43149 The concept was interesting, but having so many stories mean they're short. Some stories worked well, but others were terrible. Some come off as some kind of weird soft porno, while others are stupid. The handful of stories that were good are worth watching. It's just too bad that you have to sit through the weaker, stupid stuff to view them. The titles of the alphabet stories appear at the end and, frankly, some of the titles were really stretching it. In this type of collection, I would expect some humor or irony. This was not so. I particularly enjoy the one for W because it was creative and funny. Some stories are in different languages, so there are some subtitles, but not too much. I don't mind subtitles. I wish I could give it a higher score, but the bad bits were really that bad. I won't discourage people and say don't see it. As long as you know what you're in for, go for it. I've seen worse.
encyes This odd, quirky, disturbing, disjointed, irrational, possibly immoral, and offbeat series of VERY short stories containing each letter of the alphabet is highly entertaining if not for it's mere uniqueness. Many stories - like several anthologies - don't make a lot of sense, but are amusing. If you can stand - and stomach - the subject matter, this film can be a quick trip through the violent, sick and twisted alphabet that has never been seen before in any grade school for sure! This film - for good or bad, has a little something for every body: A is for Apocalypse, C for Cycle, and S is for Speed will make you think; F is for Fart and K is for Klutz might make you giggle, and I is for Ingrown and L is for Libido will surely make you turn away.
grantss Novel concept but the result is a mixed bag.The idea of the movie is that 26 different directors each take one letter of the alphabet, and make a short (4-5 minute) death-themed story on it. Segments are shown in order, ie from A to Z, and end with "(whatever) letter is for (something)'.Nice idea, but the execution doesn't quite measure up to the concept. The short stories vary from very clever and interesting to incredibly stupid. Some are clearly made just with shock value, and no narrative, in mind.A very diverse, quality-wise and plot-wise, assortment of stories.Overall, its so-so. There's more bad stories than good, but the overall idea, plus having to only concentrate in 4-5 minute chunks, plus the fun of trying to figure out what the letter stands for each time, balances this out.
viabilityfer This film contains 26 different segments by 26 different directors, some up and coming, others well known. They were assigned a letter and given 5k to make a short film involving death and something beginning with that letter. They were given complete freedom as to what they wanted to do with this budget. Many of them were disappointing or simply awful, some were quite good. It was interesting to see how a portion of these directors just ended up making something completely insane and not really having much to do with horror or the likes of it. For this review I suppose I'll talk briefly about each short. A had nice effects and a reveal at the end, kind of cool I guess, good start. B was underwhelming, a bit funny I suppose, pretty okay. It seems over thinking went on with C resulting in something bad. D was quite good, the budget was put to good use and resulted in a quality short film. The production value of E wasn't too good, nice concept, but didn't work for a short. F, don't know what to say about it, given the premise of the word chosen, I would have done it differently, but whatever, it was kind of a waste, but also kind of interesting. G was the 2nd worst one, pathetic. H was bonkers, a lot better things could've been done with that letter, at least it was entertaining. I didn't bring much to the table, but was a good effort. J was kind of funny, but really, what was picked for J doesn't belong. K was stupid, really not good. L was my favourite, I really liked the idea, the production value, and the content, but found the ending a bit rushed. M was the worst, kind of baffling how terrible it was. N wasn't that good either. O was useless, but the style was cool. I liked P a lot, well made with a nice story. I liked the idea of Q, but the ending was REALLY weak, so I found it to be a disappointment. I really liked R, I would also like for the director of it to make some more films, because he has a lot of potential I think. S was really bad. T was great, nice animation, made the most of the budget. U was forgettable, not so much bad, just uninspired. V might have been an okay idea, but the execution was lame. W was one of the worst. X was fantastic, what I would expect from the director. Y was enjoyable. Z was what it was, I don't want to call it good or bad, and okay is too mediocre of a word to use for it. So that's what I think about these shorts, I see a lot of wasted potential mixed in with some good stuff.
