Taraparain Tells a fascinating and unsettling true story, and does so well, without pretending to have all the answers.
Invaderbank The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
Predrag "The Boogey Man" 1980-horror film happens to be a bit rubbish. To summarize the plot, two children, a boy and a girl, are mistreated (the boy more so) by their mother's new boyfriend, and the boy murders him with a knife. Twenty years on, the young man does not speak, and both he and his sister seem haunted by the event. On re- visiting the scene of the murder, the now-young woman sees the murdered man in the mirror and breaks it, apparently "setting him free" and allowing him, mediated by shards of the mirror, to commit murders. It's really not that spectacular: the stilted acting and a tacky 1980's soundtrack certainly don't improve things. Even on the most base level however - gore effects - the film is not phenomenal, and the status as likely stemmed from the fact that children were involved in so much of the goings on.Overall it was such a bad movie, starting from the blend acting, very cheap and cheesy plot already seen a thousand times in a horror industry, and "actors" were really stellar like they were doing some kind of cheap commercial. Just awful, that is the one word to describe this movie. I wonder who ever approved this to be shot... Anyway, it is what it is. If you love trashy kind of Italian horror style of cinematography then you will enjoy it, otherwise... it is not for everybody guaranteed!Overall rating: 4 out of 10.
nomoons11 I had been waiting a long time for this one. It had been told to me that it was one of the better horror films of the early 80's. Yeah...I don't think so.First thing you notice is the budget...or...the lack there of. This one wasn't even a "B" budget. Ah and those special effects. I mean no special effects. They musta paid the actors with coupons from the local Safeway. The sad part is that they blatantly rip off 2 good horror films and kinda rip off 1 excellent one. The opening credits eerily sound like a re-worked "Halloween" score. The farm house later in the film has a very similar look to the Amityville Horror one. Those 1/4 windows and all. Towards the end you see she kinda starts to act like the girl in The Exorcist.I guess the only good thing to come out of this was Suzanna Love. She did a pretty good job with what she had to work with.If this one is one your "to see" list and your on your death bed and this one is on your mind that you shoulda saw, trust me, you didn't miss a thing.
disdressed12 surprising because Ulli Lommel was involved in writing directing and producing this thing.i didn't realise Lommel was behind it until i got it home.by then figured what the hey.i mean how bad could it be,right.after all,i managed to see at least some of Lommel's other travesties,B.T.K and Black Dalia.those were putrid. The Boogeyman however,is not.it has interesting story, some decent performances, and some unusual music/sound effects.it is readily apparent a low budget production, but i could watch it all, without having to pause to vomit,so that's something.no classic by any means, but still...for me The Boogeyman is a 5/10
EricVierthaler92 Well I was always interested in seeing the original Boogeyman and I finally had my chance cause it was on demand. Well I have to say is it's like a combo of Halloween, The Exorcist, and Final Destination. And I didn't really get who the killer was supposed to be. Was it supposed to be the spirit of the guy who wore that weird mask thingy in the beginning that got stabbed by the little kid? What was the deal? And I kinda felt bad for the kid when he grew up cause he never talked ever since. But he finally talks at the end. And I was highly let down that this movie is called Boogeyman and they never even mention the name 'Boogeyman' and I don't know who the Boogeyman is ever supposed to be! They don't even talk about the Boogeyman! I was let down by that. Over all, this was a okay movie. It was very weird! It had some kinda creepy moments. It's one of those not bad but not great movies.
