BA_Harrison The Butterfly Effect 2 isn't really a sequel: besides using the same basic concept—a young man discovers that he can change the past, albeit with disastrous consequences—it is entirely unconnected with the original movie. This time around, the unfortunate sap who alters history to his detriment is young businessman Nick Larson (Eric Lively): after inadvertently twisting time to prevent the death of his girlfriend Julie (Smallville hottie Erica Durance), Nick tries to use his new found ability to change his life for the better, but only ends up making matters much worse.As the Final Destination series has proved, the same premise can be used time and time again and still result in a hugely entertaining film. Unfortunately, Butterfly Effect 2 doesn't manage to pull off the same trick, failing to emulate the dark tone of the original, Nick's unsuccessful attempts to climb the corporate ladder hardly making for gripping viewing. And with the central character becoming less and less likable with each new time-line, the film actually makes one long for the involvement of Ashton Kutcher (did I really just type that?).

Sam Harris Maybe it is just the fact that this is a sequel to my favorite movie of all time. But Im not exaggerating when i say this is the worst movie i have ever had the displeasure of viewing First lets start with the acting. NONE OF THEM WERE GOOD. Nick Larson was not convincing at all. He just didn't have a real seeming connection with anyone. Same goes for Julie Miller. Why do i care about her art pursuits ? She gives me no reason to. Such a boring character even in her SPOILER death.How could i forget about the awful script though? Whereas in the first movie the power of travelling back to fix things was used to fix truly messed up situations, this movie has Nick travelling back because him and his buddy got fired . Its not like their lives fell apart either , because the very day they get fired is when Nick goes back. Such a petty and selfish reason.There are many other things wrong with the movie, like how it can figure out what genre it wants to be with the corny , blood laced special effects. We could also talk about the poor film quality itself. Literally the actual picture quality is bad. We could also talk about how the movie has so many chances to delve into certain plot points but never does. All in all though, it just adds up to a terrible movie. No matter what way you look at it. The movie is bad. Disgraceful sequel to Such a good movie.

last_drop I know for years that there is a sequel to "The Butterfly Effect", but never had the courage to watch it. But now I did... And I was really disappointed. I'll say it that way: bad acting, bad plot, bad special effects (really bad!), bad audio, bad everything. I didn't expect much but this... this was much worse! The plot is nonsensical - there is no explanation why the main character can do this stuff or actual explanation at all! He just did it for his girl?! Com' on! Half of the movie was sex-scenes... (Really? You couldn't come with something better?!) I even don't want to speak about the acting - nightmare. This is NOT "The Butterfly Effect" - it just took some fragments and used them. Skip the movie... it's not worth it

atinder I really like this The Butterfly Effect (2004) I think that great movie, really well made.I did not even know this movie was made it until i find out about The Butterfly effect 3 two years ago, I was like what, when did they make the second after that seen all the review mostly bad ones.I was not going to watch this movie at all but two days ago I saw this movie for 75P, I could not say no to that.This movie is about guy who was in a car crash that killed his pregnant girl friend and two of his other friends and after he came out of his coma.He can now look old pictures and come back in time when the picture was taken and change is life for the better, but he just makes is life worse.The ending was so predictable, how can no one see that coming!The acting in this movie was descent for a sequel that went Straight to DVD 3 out of 10
