The year is 1976 and it is a dangerous year in the Straits of Yucatan. The man is Jack Hooks, a former cop set up by his corrupt partner and sent to jail for a drug crime he didn't commit. After being yanked out of prison with an early release deal offered by the DEA, he is sent on a do or die mission; bring down the drug trade of his former partner, Frank Rossi and his contacts. Hooks has no choice but to plunge into the underworld of marijuana smuggling by making one big run through the narrow channel that flows between Cuba and Mexico, also known as "The Eye", and into the heart of a violent Colombian drug ring.

Tedfoldol everything you have heard about this movie is true.
Hayleigh Joseph This is ultimately a movie about the very bad things that can happen when we don't address our unease, when we just try to brush it off, whether that's to fit in or to preserve our self-image.
doubleasizemore Through the Eye is incredibly well made. The directing, storytelling, acting, cinematography .... all top-notch! Tom Sizemore delivers another one of his incredibly well paced performances. He is clearly back at the top of his game. Sizemore's acting in this film has all of the subtlety and nuance that marked his rise to stardom in the 90s. It is uplifting as well, after so much turmoil in his personal life, to see him regain his footing as an actor. It is also great to see Sizemore lending his considerable talents to the young director of this film, who did an exemplary job with what I've heard was a shoe-string budget. Although Sizemore's considerable talent and experience are unmistakable, the ensemble cast all hold their own. I highly recommend Through the Eye. Bravo!
Linda Flowers I enjoyed "Through The Eye" featuring Bertie Higgins, Tom Sizemore and Robert Thorne very much, although I thought it was a little slow moving in the beginning. Once the action started there was hardly a lull and I stayed riveted to the screen. There was way too much foul language for my taste, but one has to consider the characters portrayed would have used this language in their interactions with each other. Bertie did a fine job in his roll as Captain Mike. Finding yourself caught up in the drug trade and its consequences as portrayed in this action flick is quite a gruesome outcome. I can not wait to see more of Robert Thorne. Loved him on screen! Congrats to Julian...Through The Eye's Director! This movie was filmed and set in Tarpon Springs making it that much more enjoyable for me. Tarpon Springs and the surrounding area fit nicely into the flavor of this movie.
