Reviews

Cathardincu Surprisingly incoherent and boring
Siflutter It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
Mischa Redfern I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.
Tyreece Hulme One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.
wookiekie2 I've read a lot of bad reviews of this film and I have say that I don't agree. I came across this on Netflix at some point and decided to watch it. It's not big budget high drama but it's a fairly enjoyable science fiction experience. The characters are enjoyable and although fairly standard the interaction and acting is above par. The character development is about what you would expect for a low budget film as are the special effects but I am a firm believer in less is more and in that aspect the creatures are very minimal and effective. It does follow the long tradition of characters dying off one by one until only our hero's are left but that is what I enjoy about this type of film. I don't want to be burdened with heavy emotions and complicated plots. I just want to turn on the movie, tune out the world and enjoy a little background flavor for a while and this movie delivers.
Reno Rangan This film came five years ago, but I watched it now. A US-Russian collaboration product that's entirely takes place in Moscow. This is an alien invasion theme, but slightly different than those similar films. It never gives the reason, just the destructions like apocalypse on its way. That means it is about the survival. A group of Americans who are in the Moscow for different reasons joins the hands after people started to turn into ashes with the contact of the strange electric mist that came from the sky. So what's their plan now and whether they get out of it safely or not focused on the remaining film.Surely some people would enjoy it. It's not all bad if you are not expecting a masterpiece. I should have seen it in digital 3D for a better experience, even the normal watch is not that bad. The turns in the story were unpredictable, particularly the film characters, but the twist wasn't. They kept the open ending, and you know why is that. I liked the performances, not individually, but the overall everyone, including the Russians. The film was also shorter, which means fast moving tale. The graphics were okay, especially those electric mist thing, but disappointed for not show the aliens other than for fractions of seconds during the fightbacks. Despite enjoyed watching it, I'm not in favour of it, because it's just one of those films that falls in the average category where the majority of those who watched it not happy for not detailing everything in the film.4/10
mikevonbach This was a bit of fun to watch, nothing special, like an above average sci-fi channel flick, but fun to watch nonetheless. Hasn't been a box office hit or getting much in the way of good reviews, but if basic alien invasion is your cup of tea, you will probably enjoy it too. I liked the aliens, not your usual lot, and the Moscow sets. The cast gave decent performances as well. I would have liked to see more of the invaders and would have liked a few more battle scenes, and could have enjoyed it just as well without the 3D effects. All things considered, I will add it to my collection when it's available on disc. Catch this during a matinée if you must, but you'll probably like it a whole lot more on a theater's big screen than waiting for HBO.
jlthornb51 Filmed on location in Moscow, this outstanding film boasts a superb script beautifully realized with stunning special effects. The acting is extraordinary as well, with an exciting cast of fresh young faces you will sure to see much more of in the future. It is the direction that takes the prize, however, and it is both visionary and expert. The Moscow location is an excellent concept but a film with such a great script, a director with imagination and skill, and beautiful cinematography could be set in New Jersey and still succeed. And this one succeeds as no one could ever imagine, with excitement, thrills, and important existential insights that permeate the intelligent writing. Don't miss it!
