Reviews

SeeQuant Blending excellent reporting and strong storytelling, this is a disturbing film truly stranger than fiction
Derry Herrera Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.
Lela The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
Celia A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
Bryanhowardhall I'm brand new to this site and I'll admit that I read every review on here before I watched this movie. I should do it the other way around but I sometimes cheat lol. What I noticed about the reviews, and rightfully so, is that they are mostly about the movie in general, but not the main actor. But in this case, the movie (like all movies with the name of the character in the title) IS the actor. Will Klipstine is a great actor. It seems to me his character is misunderstood by some of these reviewers but the critic and other reviewers got it right. His character is very unlikeable in the beginning but as the movie progresses, we see a sheltered, vulnerable child who has zero experience in the real world. His oblivious pompous attitude in the first scenes set up his fall. What's endearing about him is that we discover that he never knew he came across as all those things. He is deeply humbled by external circumstances throughout the film and because of the character's emotional vulnerability, you start to root for him. That's great acting. His epiphany at the ranch and his goodbye scene to the doll are as good as any acting in ANY movie. And the scene when he's talking to his girlfriend (who's also a great actress), in bed is a great, intimate moment where Andrew reveals more about his character emotionally, not with dialogue. Someone already posted about the restaurant scene. Again, the actor is vulnerable, endearing, heartbreakingly childish, and hilarious all at once. I can't say enough about this no-name actor's talent and how impressed I am.
maxes999 I don't usually write reviews, but had to force myself to do it since all the reviews i see here are apparently written by film crew, otherwise can't believe that any sane person that is over 3 years would give this film any praise. There are so many terrible things i can say about this terrible waste of my time that i don't know where to start, actors are not really actors, it is like a bunch of kids who couldn't get into porn because of their bad acting, that's how their acting was, there is much better acting on youtube videos made by 13 year olds. the story is even worse than the acting, you can tell those people who made this film and wrote it are all some people who failed to make it in Hollywood and that what's going on in studios and casting rooms is all what their lives evolve around and their brains can think of. camera work, directing, etc..all sucks, and the still worst of all is when they are trying to be funny, you better have a bucket nearby in case you throw up.
Movie Cyn It's so obvious that this film is a labor of love. The two leads wrote, directed and produced this and that very well could be the explanation for the genuine spark and excitement that translates on screen. It's a hero story, from start to finish, with Andrew Andrews going through the typical, "You've been cut off!" scenario, to an a- typical response and storyline. There are some seriously funny moments in this film and I liked it that, in the midst of all of the comedy, there was a heartwarming love story and transformation of the main character. One of the final scenes with the main character working on the ranch is one of those beautiful, authentic moments of life somehow caught on film. Watch it!
Sara Richert My best friend and I saw the preview and she got the movie so I didn't buy it because I knew I would just borrow it from her (sorry movie makers:) My friend posted on the facebook page that this movie is the worst movie ever and it is unwatchable. Well maybe its because she hated on it so much that I thought it was cute. When it first started I thought oh god this is gonna suck like she said but it was cute. It takes time for the main guy to change and if you want everything to happen right away like in a big Hollywood movie then don't get this movie. But its cool how the character changes. Some of the jokes were gross but I thought when he dressed up like a gang member was funny. I think the actors did a good job and I think they should make more movies. The lead guy is cute and he's a better actor than most.
