I was totally surprised at how great this film. You could feel your paranoia rise as the film went on and as you gradually learned the details of the real situation.

Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.

The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

Adam and wife build up a case for why Americans should just stop caring about what Brit's think about everything. The stupidity of all of the characters will have you cheering on the forest demons because the characters parents shouldn't have been allowed to procreate.

Some films on Netflix pass by my screen daily and I just have no interest. Well, second thought, I have an interest but not enough to give them my undivided attention. The Hallow has been like that for me the past year. Tonight I had the gumption to press play and for the most part, it was a good choice. This is an Irish film starring the incredibly beautiful Bojana Novakovic. known for Devil. She plays Clare, a wife and new mother living out in the sticks with her husband who has some sort of deforestation job. As they go through the normal rounds with their newborn, black War- of-the-Worlds type things are discovered growing all around. A seemingly psychotic neighbor warns them to leave repeatedly. As is part and parcel of most horror movies, they stay.We learn this black material is actually creating beings. We are not told much about them but when they finally appear, they are very creepy and spooky looking. They seem interested in the child. This is the best I can do without a spoiler. The story is thin and not much explanation is given about these creatures. Some things get revealed in the final scenes but not enough to really make me go "Aha! That's what's going on here." Perhaps reliance on the look of the creatures was too heavy, a better story would have made this film more effective. There are a few cheap scares at the beginning and some medium ones half- way through. After that, the best part of the movie is watching the creatures who are shown to us quite close up. It's talented artistry, the CGI costume and make-up team are to be commended. Apart from the creatures, it's also a pleasure to watch Clare. She cares for her child with a motherly instinct and tries with all her might to keep her husband safe and their family intact. It's a rather physical role and of all the characters, I think hers gets to stretch out the most and explore the limits. If you want a light horror movie that is predictable yet still something interesting to look at, you may enjoy this film. For fans of this genre, I recommend it.

The film technical is correct, the music is decent, actors and actresses do the work, but unfortunately, as in 95% of cases, the screenplay is rotten. It is a torture to listen to the film to the end.At the beginning of the film the score is 10 / 10. After 15 minutes we give it 6 / 10. After an hour you have to give 4/10 and really looking forward to the film ends. The only bright side of this film, even if his scenario is silly, is that it is less silly than the human species. The latter strives to do everything to destroy this planet in the name of God the Capitalist system and its valet the Money.Fortunately, robots will replace us by 1,000 years, robots will have no trouble to be smarter than us, a table being smarter than a human. But this is another story.

Greetings from Lithuania."The Hallow" (2015) is not bad horror genre flick. It has OK acting for this material, although they could have used that "Game Of Thrones" actor more, he is barely on screen. Special effects were pretty descent, given the budget. Story isn't fresh or original nor very intriguing, but as genre movie, it has OK story. Script was also nice, although as usually there are some dull moments.Overall, "The Hallow" is pretty bloody and sometimes disturbing. It is not bad flick, for one rainy boring evening it will do it's job, just don't expect much and it will do it's job.
