bowmanblue The Hamiltons are a nice, ordinary middle class family in America. Apart from the fact they like to trap people in their basement and then eat them.The film does its best to try and inject some new life into the current obsession the cinematic public has with vampires, as it tries to portray them as basically a normal family (i.e. they don't fear Peter Cushine's crucifix, throw up when you try and feed them garlic bread, or sparkle in the sunlight - like any self-respecting vampire would actually sparkle in sunlight!). Their only weakness is their blood lust.It's pretty low budget, so don't expect A-list actors staring longingly into each other's eyes, nor any amazing transformations when neighbouring werewolves steam in to save the day. It seems to be filmed on video, giving it quite a student-feel.Is it any good? A lot of people say no, but I think that's a little unfair. Because the main character looks suspiciously like a 'Cullen' I suspect that a lot of people thought this might be in some way like the Twilight films. It isn't. It's more pure horror and horror without an awful lot of gore.If you're looking for Twilight then look elsewhere. If you don't mind a low-budget, slow-burning horror flick with characters who you probably won't really care much for, then you might be able to get something out of it.http://thewrongtreemoviereviews.blogspot.co.uk/

jfarms1956 The Hamiltons is a movie which is geared for horror fans where the horror is not of the supernatural kind. The film moves at a fairly slow pace. The Hamiltons sort of reminds me of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies. However, the Hamiltons does not have all the gore that the Texas Chainsaw Massacre has. It dos have some gore. I wish that storytellers would come up with other scenarios rather than a Texas Chainsaw Massacre do-over. It's been done, again and again. The characters are shallow and so is the plot. This is a good movie to have a TV watch party to. This is a late night movie. Popcorn all around here. Try to get something out of the movie.

p-rohal This was one of the films from the After Dark Horrorfest and like most of them it was incredibly poor. The film is painfully slow. It might have worked as a 30 minute short but as a feature film it bored the hell out of me. The film tries to set up this mystery as to what it is they are doing and why they are doing it but by the time it was revealed I had already lost interest in the story.Also, the acting in this film is incredibly poor, especially the older brother, who at times is laughable. This film was obviously made on a low budget but I can forgive the low production values. You work with what you've got, lots of great films have been made on a tiny budget (night of the living dead). However, what I can't forgive is a lack of talent. The writing and acting were downright horrible and if that's the case then the budget is irrelevant because the film is going to suck. They were clearly trying to make this an art house film but instead they just made a stinker that will put you to sleep before the first hour.

Claudio Carvalho After the death of their parents, the troubled teenager Francis (Cory Knauf) and the corrupt twins Wendell (Joseph McKelheer) and Darlene (Mackenzie Firgens) are raised by their older homosexual brother David Hamilton (Samuel Child), who sold the farm that belonged to the family. However, the sensitive and confused Francis feels misfit with his siblings and misses his parents; he spends most of his time using a camcorder to film a supposed school project. When Wendell abducts the drifters Dani Cummings (Brittany Daniel) and her friend Samantha Teal (Rebekah Hoyle), he brings them to the cellar of his house. While David daily tortures until he kills Dani, Francis sneaks in the cellar and befriends and feels sympathy for Samantha. When David is ready to kill Sam, Francis rescues her and discloses the tragic secret of his evil family."The Hamiltons" is a manipulative tale of an ordinary suburban American family that has a secret. This low-budget movie brilliantly develops the character Francis, performed by Cory Knauf and alternates between a sadistic movie and a family drama in a slow-pace misguiding the viewer. However, the unexpected final twist makes the difference of this original story, when the secret of the siblings is disclosed. My vote is eight.
