It's complicated... I really like the directing, acting and writing but, there are issues with the way it's shot that I just can't deny. As much as I love the storytelling and the fantastic performance but, there are also certain scenes that didn't need to exist.

Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?

Looking at the cover I just assumed that this was going to be just another slasher in the woods flick. And at first that is pretty much what it is. But then it turns to torture porn as well as throwing in some snuff, so it's actually a bit of a good roller coaster ride. It has a lot of gore, though possibly the most extreme effect, that of having a girl ripped in half, is let down by being CGI. It also has a lot of female topless nudity. Babyface, the masked killer, looks like he could give Jason a run for his money. Difference here is that he can actually talk - in a normal human voice! On the downside there are many plot holes, though with horror movies that often just comes with the territory. Sophie Monk is the healthiest looking junkie that I have ever seen and her sudden detox is nothing short of a miracle! Apparently she is also much older than she looks in the film, but I won't give that away. Good climax, this is no classic but certainly better than average.

This movie is exciting enough, it's alright, but it's the type of movie that you just know it's not going to blow your socks off. Or, as the movie progresses, you know that it won't turn into something super awesome. It's got some twists and turns, some kills that are alright. All in all it's alright. Like so very many other movies. It is not scary. The doll-face looks pretty cool, but nothing special. It has some found footage-ish stuff thrown in, some of it is kind of cool, some of it is a little tiring.I think the idea here is pretty good, but it is just not executed well enough. It has been taken in the wrong directions, and ends up being a little too.. bland.

I was really hoping for more based on the ratings that I saw. The cinematography is decent, as is the acting. However, the movie was relatively slow to pick up. There was nothing spectacular about any of the slasher scenes. The main females are quite attractive and there is some decent nudity involved. However, the plot is fairly weak. I found the plot to be way too unrealistic (even for a slasher flick which is saying a lot.) This movie really could have been a lot more, and it certainly had a decent beginning If you want to see a decent slasher flick that is relatively recent, I would recommend "I spit on your grave," "all the boys love mandy lane" or "cabin in the woods."

why? If this movie would have been viewed worldwide in every theater, baby face would be the next horror icon.this is down right amazing with an almost perfect plot. Great!!!!!! I've been waiting for a great horror movie with a plot that actually makes sense to surface. Here it is..I enjoyed every single moment of this film. If your looking for a slasher film with original taste and its own story line and not those typical duplicates they tend to release nowadays, "The Hills Runs Red" will definitely give u a run for your money...Jason?Micheal Myers?Pin Head? No...Not this time..Victor Crowley?. No. Not this time..Baby Face is the name..Hey, give him a Chance..its well deserved with a layout like this. what more can u ask for? I thought horror died about 10 years ago..Guess not..This film proved me wrong...Enjoy!!!!!
