Odelecol Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
Cissy Évelyne It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
Kayden This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
Eric Stevenson Well, they waited 49 years to make a movie adaptation of one of the most beloved TV shows of all time. It wasn't worth the wait. I admit to having probably only seen one episode of the actual show, but this was still terrible. It really is a huge problem with how they changed everybody's race. It hurts that it's set in modern times and it gets used as an excuse for dumb modern references. From what I have seen of the show, this was nothing like it at all.Actually, that doesn't even matter that much. Even if it was just a stand alone movie, it would still be really bad. Everything is just so bland and clichéd. I could barely find a synopsis for this film and that's because the plot is so random it doesn't matter. It doesn't work even as any episode of a TV show. I feel bad for this being the lowest rated film Roger Ebert ever gave a thumbs up to. *1/2
cwtrex It was refreshing for me. I've never watched the original honeymooners and so I came into it with an open mind. For what it was, a movie simply to entertain for 90 minutes, it passed with flying colors. That's why I decided to give it 5 stars. It wasn't a top comedy by any means, but it did give me a few laughs and that happy feeling at the end. Also, I have to wonder with all the up-to-date comments like the y2k situation as to whether or not this was meant to be judged as a remake. From what it sounds with the other comments, it doesn't have much in common with the 1955 series, at least as far as the actors personalities go anyway. If it was supposed to be a remake, then I probably should have rated it a single star when compared to the other comments. But rated by itself, I'll stick with my 5 thanks.Watch it if you have an unbiased background (meaning no honeymooners of old), and if you are simply looking for a movie that'll leave you with a laugh or two and a smile when the credits roll.
Darri Rafn Hólmarsson Honeymooners yeah. I really liked this movie. Although real-movie-serious-f*ckers wouldn't like this, I do. It was pretty funny. Not like HAHA funny but HEHE funny. Cedric the entertainer is good as always, Mike Epps even better, as his best. Regina And Gabrielle looking fine. A great remake i think. Great jokes and a good story. Heartwarming at times. I really liked stuff in the movie. The commentary is cool. and all the Special features are good. The villain is somebody you hate. I really like this movie and i think people can also do that. The soundtrack is crazy good. Recommend this movie if you like the actors. If you're emo and serious don't rent this one.Peace
leighabc123 Come on! We know this was a horrible movie. We know that a lot of plots in this movie were stupid. Why would someone risk so much money in so many get rich schemes? Why did Mike Epps make the dog lose the race and keep them from winning $20,000? Why did the wives even bother to show up at the dog races. Why did Cedric continue to let that gas guzzling con artist take money from him to train that orphaned dog? Why did the train that Cedric sell back to the foreign man sell for $1 million? There were so many stupid unbelievable plots! Yes, this movie isn't like the 1955 version of the Honeymooners. But it is just as funny. Plus any movie with fly Regina Hall and fly Gabrielle Union cannot be that bad!
