Reviews

Cubussoli Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Ketrivie It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.
Dirtylogy It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
Bessie Smyth Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
mrsmom-94329 I tend to dislike subtitle movies but this movie captivated me as soon as I read it. This film was outstanding and the plot will blow you away. I promise that you will never see another film like this one in life.
dreamtrove-176-145986 Okay, I'm no part Venezuelan. It's a good film. American audiences, take it for what it is, a low budget film from a small film industry. Yes, it has weakpoints, but also strengths. Pros: innovative plot twists, well filmed. Cons: Slow starter, overdramatizing music gives away some surprises, a few connections are contrived. Overall: A good twist on a psychological pensive ghost story.Who might like this? It's a little old school, like Gaslight, with some of the Spanish style, like Del Toro's Devil's Backbone. A touch of The Others, not as polished, but if you like those films, and are looking for something else, this would be a good one to watch.ps. To reviewers & commenters : Don't knock countries. Americans love European & Mexican movies. We're not latinophobes. Key? Subtlety. It's much more powerful if a twist happens and we almost miss it, and then wham, it's there. Just like some day noticing "oh, huh, they're from Venezuela."This needed saying because of the number of comments on the topic comments and reviews. I know funding is hard to come by for major projects in Venezuela, so kudos, keep it up. I look forward to future results.
DansHauntedHouseful Excellent story! But it's difficult to tread into the weeds of the plot without unearthing major spoilers. However, a few key words in the title of the film provide an important clue to the secrets of this film: "end of time." Therefore, one can expect a film that deals with the supernatural while challenging the linear notion of time. And this expectation is met – quite brilliantly so! There are clever twists and turns throughout the film, so much so that at times I became lost in the plot. But never mind that – at the film's end I was completely satisfied. Besides, getting lost helps one to identify with the bewildered characters that are forced to confront the startling mysteries within this house – mysteries that are doled out; never allowing an understanding of "the big picture" until all is said and done.
Jonathan Rosas The house at the end of time isn't a straight horror film. In my eyes it was much more a drama film with a sprinkle of horror and some sci-fi.This movie did one of my favorite things to see in movies. The majority of the story is told through flashbacks, or so you think. It's at least presented that way through the first 2/3 of the movie. Then in the third act, when everything starts coming together and connecting, you get the "Aha" moment. It doesn't stop though. The story continues to unfold until everything is completely explained to you and you stop and say "Holy hell, it all makes sense now." The acting in the movie is fantastic. Even the husband, who for the majority of the time does nothing but look distressed, angry, depressed, but never happy, brought so much to the movie. His facial expressions alone make the movie worth watching because he does such a fantastic job with expressing his character so well through them. The mother had a lot more to say than the husband, but the facial expressions are once again what steal the show. So much can be said through the way the eyes that bulge, or the mouth that quivers. Every actor both big and small deserves credit for the amazing work that made this film.I am slowly becoming a HUGE fan of foreign films, especially in the horror genre. Somehow other countries just seem to know how to make better quality films, and for that I say thank you.
