I recently went through the Twilight movies, i had seen the 1st 2 a while ago but decided to revisit them again followed by the sequels. After I had finished them i decided to go through The Howling movies, i was sure i had seen the 1st but did not remember any of it when i watched it recently followed by the much more many sequels than i thought it had. There were some lame links between most of the Howling movies, they seem to be after thoughts but over all were pretty bad and disappointing. The Howling: Reborn felt like it was not part of the series and the fact that it was 16 years since the previous Howling was the reason. The previous Howlings all felt dated being made through the 80's and 90's but felt like 70's movies. This movie was clearly made to cash in on the Twilight Sagas success. Landon's character kinda grew on me, Lindsey's character felt right from the beginning and Ivana's character was hot and the best in the movie. The rest of the characters were expendable as far as being interesting. The acting was OK, the story was fine too, the werewolf transformation...when it finally happened...was kinda quick...but then again some of the other Howling movies the transformation was painfully slow. The werewolf look wasn't the best by any means especially as modern as this movie is. In the end it had a nice but predictable twist. It is hard to compare this to the other Howling movies and other than all the action taking place in 1 building, it felt closer to the Twilight stuff than The Howling. Overall i think it matches the best of the Howling franchise and the worst of the Twilight franchise.Howling franchise (My ratings):The Howling (1981) (4/10)Howling II: Stirba - Werewolf Bitch (1985) (3/10)The Marsupials: Howling III (1987) (4/10)Howling IV: The Original Nightmare (1988) (3/10)Howling V: The Rebirth (1989) (5/10)Howling VI: The Freaks (1991) (4/10)Howling: New Moon Rising (1995) (2/10)The Howling: Reborn (2011) (5/10)Others worth mentioning for comparison:Twilight franchise:Twilight (2008) (5/10)The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) (6/10)The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010) (6/10)The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 (2011) (6/10)The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 (2012) (7/10)The Company of Wolves (1984) 6/10)Ginger Snaps (2000) (6/10)Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed (2004) (5/10)Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning (2004) (6/10)The Wolfman (2010) (6/10)Red Riding Hood (2011) (6/10)Werewolf: The Beast Among Us (2012) (5/10)Wolves (2014) (5/10)

What can i say really about this movie, other then at the end of the movie, me and the other sober guys here at the party had said that this movie sucked, was lame, boring, infuriating/rage inducing, trite, unlogical and downright insultingly stupid. To mention a few examples: 1. The scene when he got a naked girl that loves him and he is really really horny, what does he do? he puts cloths on her..2. The "love" scene, there was more passion and chemistry in the subway tunnel scene in the movie irreversible, then there was in this entire movie.3. The burning of all the innocent werewolves that was in the exact same position as the so-called "hero", be basically murders more innocent then all the badguys do together.4. He makes the south park nerd at world of warcraft looks like a very charming and social guy, with lots of luck with the women.5. The main characters narration not only stops the movie dead every time, it is such a load of philosophical bull that i wanted to bash my head into the wall.6. The music was bad.7. The movie was bad, and not in a good way. There are a lot of movies in this genre, and I don't have high expectations, but for being so bad, it is also so boring.

On the eve of his high school graduation, Will Kidman finally looks up to catch the eye of the girl he's lusted over for the last four years, mysterious Eliana. He's always been shy, but when he discovers a dark secret from his past - that he is heir to a powerful line of werewolves - he finds he has a choice to make between succumbing to his primal nature, or turning against his own, and maintaining his humanity. In order to fight the destiny of his legacy, and save Eliana - as well as himself - he must battle not only his growing blood lust but an army of fearsome beasts bent on killing him....An awful attempt to cash in on the name of a horror movie that was tarnished by some of the worse sequels ever made and obviously the Twilight saga. The main guy looks like Harry Potter without the personality, and he spends the movie being stared at by some angry Backstreet Boys wannabes and some woman who looks like his dead mother, just without glasses. The story makes no sense, he falls in love with some girl who sleepwalks through the film, and Werewolves, they should be called Where? wolves, because you never really see the things in full. Please, if you want to see a blatant rip off of the Twilight saga, watch Vampires Suck, it's just as bad, but at least you will get references.Or watch the Howling instead, and refuse to believe that this exists.Boring and dreadful.

This movie is a lot better than those reviewing here! The acting is superb, the cinematography is perfect, effects are up with most other movies. I was a fan of the original Howling but lost favor after seeing many of the sequels. They just flat out sucked in every way. They were cheesy and were just embarrassing to watch! This IS NOT one of those! This is a GREAT reboot of the movie. IF you're a Werewolf movie fan, this is a must see! The story line is really good, you care about the characters and the movie moves along nicely. Not to mention a couple of hotties thrown about. Definitely would recommend seeing...
