Diagonaldi Very well executed
Jacomedi A Surprisingly Unforgettable Movie!
Aedonerre I gave this film a 9 out of 10, because it was exactly what I expected it to be.
Lela The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
Aki Rantakolmonen Okay, little different review this time. Let's gather the stars. I really like and hunt this kind of movies. Trapped/surviving kind of films. Especially when actors and filming scenes are very limited. I really like that. This gives alone 3/10 stars to any movie.Let's continue. About the story line and script. It's pretty dumb. You actually do not know anything what's going on. No, not even when the movie ends. This... Ah.. This feels like just pointless. I really can't even say what they were researching. Script goes just way too far and it gets complex and confusing. Is that good movie when you don't get the idea of the film? Or what is happening? I don't think so. No stars this time. 3/10Next the execution. All the actors did quite good job. They acted well and the atmosphere was intriguing and mysterious, somewhat tensed through the whole movie. But one word about that situation with woman... I hate it. I-f******-hate-it. Generally any movie which has the situation where someone do something, and suddenly that action was only imagination/dream, should be rated 0/10. It's most idiotic thing in the movie industry. BUT, apart from that, the filming was executed quite nicely. Let's give 2 stars from here. Conclusion 5/10. Good acting and the style of filming save this movie from catastrophe. I didn't like the screenplay. It's just too weird and profound for my taste. Not the best movie, but not the worst. Average movie in trapped/surviving genre.
KissEnglishPasto ......................................................from Pasto,Colombia...Via: L.A. CA., CALI, COLOMBIA and ORLANDO, FL *** This review may contain spoilers *** Let me set the record straight regarding KILLING ROOM's AUDIO! Many reviewers complain about the sound. "Couldn't understand!", "Needed Captions!", they protest! Believe me, as an amateur expert, everything "Audio" here is exquisite; it just doesn't get any better! Is the dialog hard to follow? You bet it is! And this is EXACTLY what 32 year-old South African Director Jonathan Liebesman(Darkness Falls/Rings) wanted! Stress/Tension levels tend to go through the roof when you're under constant duress about having missed something crucial. Don't worry. You won't!!!! KILLING ROOM does have similarities to most of the films it's compared to here. However, IMO it bears, by far, the greatest similitude to Spain's La HABITACION De FERMAT(FERMAT's ROOM). FOUR nothing-in-common strangers have responded to a Want Ad for "Test Subjects". From the get-go, they're told that "They will be given $250 each, for their participation/ co-operation. One by one they will be eliminated from the experiment. However, they ALL will receive $250, irrespective of the order of their elimination!" What someone SHOULD have requested was: "Define ELIMINATION"! Surprisingly well done ensemble acting, with Timothy Hutton, Chloe Sevigny and Peter Storemare the most noteworthy examples. If KILLING ROOM had not lost its iron grip on me for a few minutes about 3/4 through, I would have rewarded it with 10*...A real shame, that! Part Psychological Drama/Suspense, part Mystery/Thriller, part Dark Morality Play, and the fourth component is what makes KILLING ROOM totally unique, makes it stand out head and shoulders above the pack! Unfortunately, the simple act of revealing it would serve as a definite SPOILER!...So you'll just have to see KILLING ROOM for yourselves, won't you? 8* STARS*.....ENJOY/DISFRUTELA! Any comments, questions or observations, in English or Español, are most welcome!
Rainer Freimuth The most awful and inhuman Movie I have seen for a long time! The Characters are in a not describable manner one-dimensional. You got everything from a Rambo, over awful look-away to a modern Josef Mengele.I can really say, I feel sick for those people, which think this is a good movie. Such people would also think killing children in a movie makes it a good movie, cause it is shocking. Please to all, which would like to have a good sleep at night, DON'T LOOK THIS DISGUSTING PICE OF GARBAGE!!!greets
Rob Broekhof This was a pretty good movie, one of the reasons being that it made me think again on the essence of enemies in anyones own life.At a certain point in the movie Dr. Phillips tells Emily Reilly something in the order of that there's always someone like him at the end of the enemy, doing similar experiments with a similar purpose. Then I thought how I would have responded to Dr. Phillips; I would have asked him: "Who's the enemy?!". Regardless of what he would have answered, I would have told him my answer: "With all due respect sir, I am convinced that the enemy is in YOURSELF ... and it's name is ... FEAR". FEAR for the need to defend yourself in situations as depicted in this movie, and FEAR for yourself to do really bad stuff to other people ... to make a true effort to find out how "Room 101" needs to be prepared for someone you dearly hate ... an example of the danger of individual FEAR.Room 101 is a place introduced in the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell. It is a torture chamber in the Ministry of Love in which the Party attempts to subject a prisoner to his or her own worst nightmare, fear or phobia ... another example of the danger of collective FEAR.
