First entry with Bud Spencer as commissary Rizzo or Flatfoot executing his missions on city of Napoles. Amusing comedy set on Napoles for Bud Spencer enthusiasts , repeating his usual role as Commissario , this time dealing with mobsters and drugs . Rizzo (Bud Spencer or Carlo Perdesoli) is a corpulent and bouncing cop from Napoles where meets enemies , facing off dangers, and several adventures. Rizzo lives with Maria (Juliettte Mayniel who starred the classic ¨Eyes without a face¨) and her son . But the violent methods used by Rizzo cause his suspension and then he join forces with Napolitan mobsters to stop the drug smuggling by the Marsaille Mafia . Flatfoot suspects on The Baron (Angelo Infanti who acted in ¨The Godfather¨ though very secondary ) as dope kingpin and he pursues him but is protected by his lawyer (Raymond Pellegrin who starred Napoleon). It's an amusing romp with thrills , brawls and some race pursuits in motorcycle through stairs and car races including bounds and leaps on the beach . This is a nice entertaining juvenile for Bud Spencer fans , as he's delight . It packs action, fist-play, slapdash, humor with tongue-in-cheek and is quite bemusing , though contains some violent killings . This release has some cool and several hilarious moments such as the fights with the freeze fishes ; however the Terence Hill-Bud Spencer duo films are better . The film isn't always good , sometimes is fresh and diverting and on a couple of memorable occasions ,it's frankly delicious. The movie displays innumerable laughters , jokes and slapstick . Enjoyable screenplay by Luziano Vicenzoni , Sergio Leone's habitual screenwriter . Catching and commercial musical score by Guido and Mauricio De Angelis (Spaghetti Western's ordinary) and composed by synthesizer, as usual . Colorful cinematography by Silvano Ippoliti who photographs splendidly the Napolitan outdoors . The motion picture is professionally directed by Steno, Stefano Vanzina(father of Carlo Vanzina). He wrote and directed in the 60s Toto vehicles (Toto vs the four, Two colonels) ; Walter Chiari and Raimondo Vianello shows (Heroes of the West, Twins from Texas). In the 70s and 80s directed Bud Spencer movies about Flatfoot or Rizzo, also called Piedone, such as, Flatfoot in Hong Kong, Flatfoot in Egypt and Banana Joe , among others. And in the 80s directed TV series , the Professore Jack Clementi, again with Bud Spencer. Rating : Acceptable and passable , though only for Bud Spencer fans .It's followed by various sequels as : "Piedone d'Egitto" original title) or "Flatfoot on the Nile" (1978) ; "Piedone l'Africano" (original title) or "Flatfoot in Africa" aka "Knock-Out Cop" and Pies Grandes (1975) or "Piedone a Hong Kong" or "Flatfoot in Hong Kong . All followings are lively performed by Bud Spencer and usual secondary appearance of Enzo Cannavale as Deputy Inspector Caputo .

This movie is really good, It's got the (bud spencer/piedone) vibe, but rather than being totally slapstick like his other movies it has the 1970's police/italian/drama movie vibe, with little twist and turns that they police movies HAD, and in contrast with his other movies it has a dramatic background, Obviously there are more hardcore police movies, but this is a good begin for anyone, if anyone wants to watch them all, it's half lightheart half hardcore, needless to say if you no nothing about police B-movies and you watch "il Boss" right away, you might ned a shrink to get you out of the mode. But this is really passable

This movie is cool! It's about a man named Inspector Rizzo from Naples Italy. He has a nickname "Flatfoot" given to him from everyone in town and on the police force. He want's to keep drug dealing and prostitution out of his town. He refuses to carry a gun, he only carries his fists! His boss thinks that Flatfoot's methods of policing are "Unorthadox" and he requires that every officer must carry a gun. But Flatfoot still refuses. One of the better cop movies around and has a good opening scene. ( The guy on the roof shooting at the people in the street) It's north american title is " A fistfull of hell" if you ever think of renting this movie! This movie gets 7/10

Flatfoot is an unconventional Italian detective with a soft heart for informants and prostitutes. In this flick he battles a well organized crime ring while dealing with a new boss who doesn't understand his methods.
