Clarissa Mora The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
Paynbob It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Gary The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
wolfboi-64614 Just in case you forgot, this movie started a trend of forced memes. The horror, The horror! OVERALL MOVIE: 3/10 I prefer Mystery Science Theater or Rifftrax better.
elena1997 This is one of my favorite Disney movies of all time! It's just too awesome. I love how it shows Timon and Pumbaa meeting, the hyenas being the main villains, and shows Timon's family! Max just recently became my top favorite Disney character overall. Like I said in my review for Behind The Legend: Timon, he's such a riot! Plus to me, he is so cute! Timon's Mom is really cute too, and funny. Especially with the hair thing, and nearly squeezing Timon to death. XDAs for the part where Timon proposes to Shenzi as a distraction, Shenzi's reaction cracks me up every time! XD Same with Timon's hyena joke, Pumbaa changing the channel by accident, the "hot tub" scene, a whole lot of scenes crack me up.Plus, there were some moments that are just too cute to me. Such as Shenzi's "And that's just how I like 'em! Scrambled, and a little bit runny." And Max's face when Simba reclaims his place as King. Every time I see it, I just want to hug him! X3I love all the songs too! I get Max's singing stuck in my head. X3
didonatope Overall, Lion King 1 1/2 is a sadistic experiment in throwing pop culture and toilet humor into the original classic. However, it could have been good. It does bring a few good ideas to the table. Timon's back story isn't executed too poorly, and the idea of giving Timon and Pumbaa a back story was a great idea. However, the execution of the plot was horrendous, as it can never make up its mind; is it a parody of the first film or a serious back story? There are also numerous continuity errors between this and the original Lion King. For example, in the original Lion King Rafiki tells Timon and Pumbaa that Simba has went to fight Scar, but here, it is Nala. Why did they do this? Simple; in this film Rafiki serves as Timon's guardian angel, a plot element thrown in to make this film a cheezier midquel (Kudos on the honest title by the way, this is not a Lion King 3 and I'm sick of midquels and prequels being paraded as sequels). Classic scenes from the original such as the sunrise, the animals bowing to baby Simba, the "Be Prepared" musical number, the stampede that KILLED MUFASSA, and just about every serious moment are ruined by Timon and Pumbaa's unfunny commentary and fart jokes including cutting to QVC footage, Pumbaa breaking wind numerous times, and literally pausing the movie to parody Mystery Science Theater (disrespecting fans of that show as well). If you respect the original, I suggest not only avoiding this film, but throwing any copied of this film in the nearest blender you can find ASAP. This movie may not be a complete disaster because of its decent execution of the story it is telling by itself, but the way it literally pastes jokes on the original film to pander to the little kiddies is a disgrace. A disgrace to everyone who loved the original, everyone who worked on the original, and a disgrace to people who value film as an art-form in general. From a moral perspective, it is perhaps the most tasteless, disgusting, and sickening heap of trash ever designed by the utterly worthless Disney Toon Studios.
mervclan I really like the first lion king it was pretty well darn and quit funny and sad the 2nd one was okay it did had a few problems but I like this movie its not my favorite Disney movie but its quit good to watch the story is about Timon and Pumbaa who also appear in the short series called Timon and Pumbaa now are the main characters of this film the story is about Timon telling people about his life and not being happy and wanting to have a new life he tells his mum what he is looking for and sits off on his adventure and where Pumbaa and both make a became best friends and said that friends stick to gather in the end the story is very well done will its not as good as the first 2 but quit well done story is pretty good but its not as good as some other 2000 Disney films from the early 2000s but its not that bad its better then Inspector gadget 2 that awful direct video but all in all its fun for people who love direct films but if you are true lion king fan you might be a bit upset. Its not a masterpiece and does not compared with the first 2 films and is mostly is a bit more entertaining for kids than adults but some adults might like it I give this movie a 7 out of 10.
