Reviews

ChikPapa Very disappointed :(
Glucedee It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.
ChanFamous I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.
Mischa Redfern I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.
mxsuba26 Selma, a Bosnian 20 - something who lived through the 90s war (and racked with PTSD) goes with her German boyfriend on a pleasant road trip through the same Bosnian woods where her parents were murdered by the Serbs during the ethnic cleansing and which is also littered with landmines from the war. That makes perfect sense. Of course German boy, (a typical weak male character) drives their SUV into a ditch and breaks the axle trying to get it out. Now they are stuck. Then things go downhill from there. They run into a pair of older Serb guys, the enemy in the war. These two guys are living together in a cave with just their AK 47 and some schnapps. Why? Is this a Serbian bromance? Selma is raped by one of the Serbs after her German BFF disappeared into the woods (he does this several times during the movie) . The plot gets worse from there. Alien appearances, flashbacks, dream sequence, more violence, etc. The ending makes no sense whatsoever. Pass on this one.
Partho Som It is somewhat surprising to see such a low rating of this excellent film. This film is an excellent thriller with grounded historical references. The film concerns a couple who get stuck in a Bosnian forest on their way home from the woman, Selma's family's funeral, who were killed during a genocide in the Bosnian war. In the forest they are confronted with two ferocious Serbian militant, and from there on the film takes a dark turn. The background is the Bosnian war, and especially the mass rape and genocide. It takes a quick Wikipedia search to know that during the war, majority of the genocidal rape was perpetrated by the Bosnian Serbs. Among other things, this film also explores the inefficacy of the first world middle-class people's endeavor to "understand" a war-ravaged woman. Though Selma's German boyfriend tries to "understand" her, and "protect" her, he is not ready to give up his own comfort zone.
dafuror My title says it all. He is a weak willed pacifistic good for nothing but platitudes and empty promises spineless twit. Everything bad happens to her, she is solely responsible for taking care of herself and, in the end, he is bound and determined to deprive her of closure. Unfortunately most of the dialogue is (in the english version at least) is indecipherable.
vkhiev The summary: it's a stupid movie taken mostly closeup from the back mostly in the dark
