This documentary sucks. I wanna know how you make a hip hop documentary with Raekwon, Ghostface, KRS, QTip, Too Short, Meth, Biggy, and more legends this f'n boring and pointless. Most of the footage is taken from interview sessions from previous qd3 movies like the "Beef" series and "Rhyme and Reason", which are WAY better documentaries than this. Also, they never really make a valid point of defining the difference of rapper vs. mc. The whole thing has a pointless, slapped together feel. After seeing the "Beef" series and being a big fan of this filmmaker, I've lost a lot of respect for him after seeing this garbage. Its boring, pointless and cheap. Another thing is, I don't like how it focuses on a hot right now mc like Kanye. (Who comes across as a pompous jerk anyway.) A poorly thought out, weak film.

This is one of the best documentaries I've ever seen on anything bar none!!! It transcends Hip Hop which is kind of odd to say considering Hip Hop in itself transcends all i.e. culture, music, race, beefs. I so thoroughly enjoyed this movie that the first thing I did this morning is recommend it to a friend of mine who is a true Hip Hop Head. This movie goes into the history of the craft of MC'ing, how it started, who started it, who changed it, the differences between an MC and a rapper (please believe there is a difference), keeping it real or not to keep it real or is using one's imagination out of bounds.I had no idea what I was in for upon renting this movie at B/B, all I know is Rakim was on the front(still the greatest in my eyes) and it was about MC'ing. See this movie!!! I guarantee you will not be disappointed. For anyone who doesn't about Hip-Hop or anyone who would like to learn more, this is it!

This is one of the best hip hop documentaries I have see. The film has legendary as well as up and coming MCs talking about the history of MCing and what it takes to be an MC. The film features three amazing freestyles from KRS One, Canibus, and Method Man as well as posing questions such as the difference between the rapper and the MC. Anybody interested in learning about hip hop or anybody who thinks they know needs to check this out!!! Featuers : Rakim, KRS One, Biggie, Saigon, DJ Premier, Jurrassic 5, Beanie Seigel, Pharoe Monch, Too Short,Zion I, Dialated People, MC Shan, Kanye West, Twista, 50 Cent, Blackchild, Guru, Slick Rick, Doug E. Fresh, Killer Mike and many more.
