When the Muppets graduate from Danhurst College, they take their song-filled senior revue to New York City, only to learn that it isn't easy to find a producer who's willing to back a show starring a frog and a pig. Of course, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy won't take no for an answer, launching a search for someone to take them to Broadway.

Linbeymusol Wonderful character development!
InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Quiet Muffin This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
Marva-nova Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
MartinHafer I love "The Muppet Movie" and have watched it several times. It's fun, it's funny and, most importantly, it's entertaining. Tonight I decided to try re-watching some other older Muppet films and was absolutely dumbfounded by how bad "The Muppets Take Manhattan" was considering the wonderful characters they had to work with in the film. Think about it...Kermit and the gang...and they were boring! The film is all about their trip to New York in order to go to Broadway--but there are simply few laughs and no joy in the film. Most of the songs, apart from the sequel song (which was also re- used in their last film), were bland and forgettable, the laughs are few and the plot isn't particularly engaging. The only good things, the many cool stunts to make the characters seem more real by having them walk seemingly independently of the puppeteers, were nice--but this was not the reason I watched the film. My feeling is that only the biggest (and perhaps most undemanding) fans will enjoy this one. My vote for the worst of the Muppet films.
gavin6942 Kermit and his friends go to New York to get their musical on Broadway only to find it's a more difficult task than they anticipated.Perhaps I am in the minority, but I do not think this is one of the better Muppets movies. It is still enjoyable, but something just seems missing. Maybe the lack of cameos, maybe the songs are not quite as memorable... not sure. But it is great to see how historically important the film is, not only for introducing the "Muppet Babies", but bringing on Gates McFadden, who rose up the ranks with the Henson crew. (She may be best known today for her role on "Star Trek: The Next Generation", but she was a Muppet friend first.)
kylehaines96 Director Frank Oz gives us the third of Muppet movies with The Muppets Take Manhattan. The movie follows Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, Rowlf, Scooter, and Dr. Teeth And The Electric Mayhem trying to sell their play Manhattan Melodies to Broadway but are having a really hard time to do it. The musical numbers are fantastic, the humor is downright funny. Like The Great Muppet Caper it has its share of slow spots but I still eagerly recommend The Muppets Take Manhattan.Rated G.1hr 34min/94min.***1/2/****
FilmBuff1994 The Muppets take Manhatten isn't the Muppets best film but it is is pretty good,it is about the Muppets all graduating from college except they all have different dreams and they all end up separating from each other, the movie then starts to revolve on the star of the Muppets "Kermit the Frog" as he goes to Manhatten to put his dream show on Broadway and he decides to start things off around their slowly and gets a job in a small restaurant and Kermit ends up becoming great friends with another employee their called Jenny and she ends up helping Kermit with the show and they get Miss Piggy and the rest of them to join in and the show gets scheduled to start in two weeks on Broadway, but then Kermit gets into an accident and then suffers from amnesia and tries to start a new life since he cant remember anything and ends up working for an unpopular shampoo business, while the rest are looking all over the place for Kermit.
