Fluentiama Perfect cast and a good story
BroadcastChic Excellent, a Must See
Borgarkeri A bit overrated, but still an amazing film
Roy Hart If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.
cajonblews76 Wonderful show it's a must to see! It's gr8 to see how learning about medicine in 1020's was like. Gr8 actore very well put together enjoyed it all the way! would love to see a part 2
hniecalista I have to say that the story, the actors, the special effect and the shooting set are great and I will give it 8 out of 10 only if the genre of the movie is a fiction drama movie with all fiction characters and setting. I know it based on the novel, but if you want to make it as a movie then they need to do a lot of researches about the history because they expose the real figure, "Ibn Sina".Having fictional character and using the real history as the setting of the story, and also to have the imaginary connection between the fiction characters with the real live characters are still okay as long as they don't twist the real history. The death of Ibn Sina, the unknown Persian king with his problem with the barbarian seljuk and the strange Islam sect community (maybe be they want to say "It's a Shia Muslim dude") made this movie turned out to be ridiculous! and the forbidden relation between the lead character with the pretty girl also made this movie to be "a Hollywood" movie which needs sex and love scandal.
creativehaqi I worked in Hollywood as a screenplay writer, and acting teacher. Nee, I know something about da biz, having worked in media for 50 years. This movie, probably costing millions, well, I'll be kind... I felt sorry to Ben Kingsley, who once played Ghandiji! And all the other actors, I'd love to get their stories... A cast of thousands, exotic locations, sex and violence, an epic saga, without heart, rambling from trauma to trauma, Jews against Arabs, warlords against warlords, camels against camels, the desert against all! I don't know how something like this get's produced, ah, maybe the de riguer sex scene, arrows flying hither and yon. I can picture the pitch meeting, with the creators going for the money, IT'S THE STORY OF THE FIRST MEDICAL OPERATION, AND THIS HAS HISTORIC VALUE Wouldn't the millions spent on this mopic have been better used to feed the hungry? Sue'leimann Ac'yuerek I did not read the book so after i saw the movie i read the summary of the book at Wiki. The story line is almost the same . If u value history and facts u have to bare the ignorance of novelist and the director ! Their ignorance may be intentional. Before the year 1938 there were a lot of intentional pieces about Jews in Nazi Germany. In the year 2013 when the movie was on screen there is Islamophobia around the world and this movie may intensify the ignorance of the ignorant people. I can understand the need of a fictional character from the view of novelist but at least he could stick with the historical facts if he was not meant to serve Islamophobia. I don't believe the novelist meant that but the German makers of the movie definitely thought about it ! Ps: Am not Muslim or believe in any other religion.
