Stoutor It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.
SparkMore n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.
Alasdair Orr Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
joshuabush-28688 I enjoyed this movie, I thought it was cheesy at times but it payed of in a way. I don't know why there is a lot of backlash, But I know critics and others alike don't like the christian genre in film, which I think one sided... I am a christian myself, and I think this deserved a higher rating.
religioneliminator This movie could have been awesome if not for the religious crap trying to brainwash you all the time.Don't listen to the religious freaks crowd, they are simply defending their own crap. It is sad to see the religious freaks now entering movies and trying to recruit new victims with their propaganda. Simply disgusting and LOW.If their god would see them he would be very angry that they use such subterfuge to recruit more souls. If the religious babble doesn't bother you, this movie is tolerable and even interesting. Would have been a lot better without the constant brainwashing. (They don't see it, it's their belief, but for people that don't share this belief, it is VERY annoying, just like the JW ringing your door on Sundays!!)
MrGKB ...simply fails to measure up to any of the promises it may have made, thanks to a simplistic, overly preachy script, relatively lukewarm acting and direction, and a budget that belies the cataclysmic nature of its premise. Names need not be mentioned since no one involved will be highlighting it on their resumes. "The Remaining" isn't quite as bad as the aggregate score here on the IMDb indicates, but remains a strong example of Sturgeon's Revelation nonetheless. In this day and age of CGI wizardry, the fx are made-for-TV or direct-to-video at best, and despite the earnest effort, fail to convey any genuine sense of worldwide end-of-times catastrophe. This is "Left Behind" lite, to be generous, and no more worth your time than that Nicholas Cage misfire. That it actually garnered theatrical release is a mystery to me; I can only guess it was targeted toward fundamentalist strongholds in the South and Southwest. The only "remaining" you'll be wondering about if you happen to watch this nonsense is how much time is left before it's over.
coromander While it may not coincide with events foretold by the Scriptures, this movie explains the extent of what happens when the rapture event occurs. We need to make a choice. While some criticize this as "Christian noise" and other such put-downs, many recognize this as the only real question we face here on this earth. Evil exists and will be allowed to rule one day here, and you had better be prepared. Those who deny have willfully shut their eyes to what this movie portrays. I think this movie accurately portrays the evil that surrounds the earth once the good is removed. Before the apocalyptic events occur, there is a cap on evil and good remains, pictured here by a wedding. When the rapture comes and all believers are removed from the scene, those who are left face the horrifying truth that without this covering from God, what is left is unspeakable and terrifying in its finality. The hope is that God can still be chosen even with this terrifying reality.
