Matthew Perry shines as Ron Clark in this wonderful film. He truly captures the character and his rapport with the kids playing his students is wonderful.Perry gives us as an audience all the elements of his personality that we fell in love with in Friends while also being able to show off his skill as a dramatic actor. He plays both the comedic and dramatic scenes equally well.Films like this are nothing new but it is the simple story behind this one combined with the charm of Perry that allows it to stand out from the others. It is a truly wonderful film that is well worth a watch.

Matthew Perry has been officially labeled as that wimpy chandler guy from friends, after you watch this movie you would think twice.I watched this movie because i love Matthew perry's performance in friends so i was delighted to see that he is in a movie that was, what I heard, good so i happened to flip through the channels and saw this movie was coming up.I watched this movie with an open mind and after you had watched this movie you will lie on your bed as you fall a sleep thinking about this movie the entire night and to think that it is a true story.Matthew Perry's performance was beautiful a well as the storyline and message,I weeped half the time I watched this movie and I think the children in this movie deserve much more credit for their performance because some of them were actually good. The only thing that I want them to improve is the cinematography should definitely be improved as it effects the whole experience of the movie, as well as some scenes were not so important and should be cut out (no offense to the editors off course).Overaall I think you should watch this movie, it will really keep you thinking of all the things a person can achieve, and the movie is a very good experience. Good move Perry.P.S. Hands down too the real Ron Clark.

This movie is about the classic struggle of a teacher trying to reach his kids. At first I was a little bit skeptic but then I reconsidered because of Matthew Perry who I am a big fan of. He really makes a performance of his life and brings this movie over the top. Here he shows what a talented actor he really is. Like I said, I was a bit skeptic before I saw it but I was just blown away. The story follows the red line during the whole movie and every scene is exciting because they leave out many of the unnecessary details. And because of that, all the scenes brings something new to the story. And I know it's a kind of classic story like I said before. But this time it is seen like never before. I don't wanna ruin this by telling you to much but my suggestion and recommendation is for anyone and everyone to go see this magnificent piece of art.

Being a teacher, I look for inspiration. I was fortunate to have seen Ron Clark speak last year. At this gathering, mention was made that there was a TV movie being made about his inspiring story starring Matthew Perry. So, now comes that movie. But having seen it the other night, I must say how unimpressed I was. The reason why is that Ron Clark has been turned into "Ron Clark, role for TV star who wants people to see that he can act" and it doesn't seem to capture the personality of the real guy! The real Ron Clark I would describe as effervescent, clearly North Carolinian (the dialect gives that away), a bundle of energy. Matthew Perry's performance seemed, in comparison, to be Ron Clark on downers. A dynamic, even flamboyant, white guy in a Harlem school should seem to demand a stronger contrast in storytelling. THE RON CLARK STORY was too convenient in the fact that all story lines end at the same time in the same room. It's sanitized, homogenized and Hollywood-ized into formulaic material that does not serve to inspire from a realistic point of view. It exaggerated too far beyond what the real story is.Too bad. The inspiration for the storytelling got lost. It seems to have become less inspiring than the real Ron Clark would suggest. That's demotivating.
