Watch something else. There are very few redeeming qualities to this film.

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

When the movie begins with what is clearly Santa with his reindeer getting shot down by an American fighter, you figure there isn't going to be much reality in this one. But it gets worse as the Keystone Cops chase what is presented as a real Santa with a lot of magic. It is probably a movie aimed at kids, although there is a scene where the Homeland Security guy threatens two innocent children. I wish I could say that the acting was tolerable, but the two children were the only ones close to decent acting. Greg Germann was over the top evil and insane as the head agent.I don't think I would recommend this one for any age.

With a Hallmark Christmas movie, you pretty much know going in a lot of the plot elements - a bit of romance, some misunderstandings, the children are precocious and usually quite nice but if not, reformable, and the ending is preordained. TSI follows the pattern but compared to most other Hallmark movies, doesn't manage to creep up to the "average" bar. There really isn't much chemistry between anyone, the Keystone Cop element falls flat, and in a surprise to me in a movie aimed at the younger set, not only are guns pulled but the Feds even threaten children. That last is really odd for a Hallmark movie. When Hallmark is in the Christmas spirit, there are multiple channels in play so flip past this one and hit one of their other shows. It has to be better.

I HAVE REVIEWED OVER 400 (C H R I S T M A S ) MOVIES AND SPECIALS.BEWARE OF SOME REVIEWERS THAT ONLY HAVE ONLY ONE REVIEW. WHEN ITS A POSITIVE THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE THEY WERE INVOLVED WITH THE PRODUCTION. I HAVE NO AGENDA! I AM HONEST! I REVIEW MOVIES & SPECIALS AS A WAY TO KEEP TRACK OF WHAT I HAVE SEEN! I HAVE DISCOVERED MANY GEMS IN MY QUEST TO SEE AS MANY " C H R I S T M A S " MOVIES AS I CAN. Christmas movies are all over the place during the holidays. I have to admit that some of these films are bad however some are great. This film however is somewhere in the middle. Its not great & its not bad. It is however meant for small children which is fine. This film however makes a huge mistake by not making it smart. Children are not as stupid as the producers think and for that the film suffers. In this film Santa is marooned in a small town when his sleigh is mistaken for a UFO. He is rescued by two children and tries to prepare for Christmas while stranded far from the North Pole. To make sure Christmas isn't ruined this year, Santa must find a way to take flight by Christmas Eve.A great idea for a film but the filmmakers did dumb this down. That's too bad. They could have had something very special.

Okay the acting isn't the best but it is made-for-TV. Hallmark style, Santa gets grounded, kids come to the rescue, baddie homeland defense guys are looking for him, and one big scary guy is tracking him, for we don't know what reason. Hide, chase and finally Santa is away safe, and all ends well. Suitable for all family if you don't mind explaining some of it to the wee ones as to how Santa can get knocked out of the sky, or come up befuddled on the ground. It explains it all, but you might want to add you own spin so your children will understand that Santa ALWAYS comes through no matter what the conditions might be. I enjoyed watching the bumbling Homeland Defense guys, kind of like Maxwell Smart or an Inspector Clouseau....
