Admirable film.
Matrixiole
Simple and well acted, it has tension enough to knot the stomach.
Kodie Bird
True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.

I find it ironic in the extreme that the reason most often given for this pilot not being picked up by the networks is that "it's too similar to Stargate".Have these people forgotten that the original "Time Tunnel" series preceded "Stargate" by some 30 years - so if anything, it should be "Stargate is similar to Time Tunnel".So let's not forget that without Irwin Allen's "Time Tunnel" to provide the inspiration and the basic concept behind it, there would probably never even have been any "Stargate".And speaking personally, I'd take a new series of "Time Tunnel" over the entire "Stargate" franchise any time. There had been rumours of another attempt to relaunch "Time Tunnel" in 2007, but sadly this seems to have come to nothing. A real pity.

I just watched this pilot. I loved it! It reminded me of my childhood. It is the TV series I loved the most when I was a kid. The remake is amazing. Since the movie starts, you are captured by it. It takes you back to a time and place you haven't lived and you feel you're part of the team, you think you're with them, trying to mend the unleashed reaction caused by scientists when they discovered the "hot fusion". You accompany these fellows in this fantastic journey and you enjoy every single minute of it.The characters are credible. The story has some jokes, drama, fantasy. It's just great. When the movie ended I was waiting for more. Unfortunately, new episodes haven't been made yet. I'm pretty sure we'll have them soon. I'm looking forward to it!

I couldn't disagree more with those who didn't like this 2002 pilot presentation. As a long-time fan of the original, I found this re-imagining both well-written and well-executed. True, its story borrows from the original series and from other time travel concepts that have aired over the last forty years, but it does a very good job of bringing many disparate ideas into a cohesive whole. The series was not bought because its completion coincided with those of the Stargate series, which was most unfortunate. Fortunately, however, it now is included in the 'Time Tunnel' Volume Two DVD set just released by Fox, giving a great many people the opportunity to watch and judge it for themselves. There are reports that the Sci-Fi Channel belatedly has picked up this pilot for regular series production and broadcast in 2007. If so, I for one will be a faithful viewer.

By some miracle I have managed to obtain a copy of this film. While it is rough around the edges, as most pilots are, it has alot of potential. With additional character development and some good stories written by strong writers this pilot could have evolved into a very good series had it been given the chance. While this film bears little resemblence to the Irwin Allen series of the 60s, other that the brief hint of the original theme at the beginning, this contemporary version is well worth a look to scifi and time travel fans. I enjoyed it very much and it's a nice addition to my video archives.
