Claysaba Excellent, Without a doubt!!
Doomtomylo a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
Abbigail Bush what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Arianna Moses Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
stefanopertile I think this is a film about the uncertainty, changeability and unpredictability of human feelings, at least for whom who try to live them sincerely, showed and directed in the Malick's way: slowness, grace, tenderness, beauty of the images the screen and the lights, and voice-over. This concerns not only the unstable love between the main couple, Neil (Ben Affleck) and Tatiana (Olga Kurylenko) but also the faith of a priest (Javier Bardem) in front of life events, and the affair between Neil and Jane (Rachel McAdams). Malick doesn't give answers; better, the only answer in front of this is the beauty of images and feelings of the true moments, enriched by the grace of love (which is of course the grace of Olga Kurylenko's playing). It seems like in front of this beauty, the film says that yes, this beauty and grace is worth the struggles who arise from uncertainty, changeability and unpredictability of human feelings.
jhwhite-59557 I will now write a novel about love using only prepositions. I'm sure I can find some pseudo artistic types to read it and consider it high art.
Andres-Camara Malick tries Malick again, for the people they like. Personally I do not like it and this movie was not going to be different. When a movie can last for half an hour or so and do not undergo any changes, there is something strange. In this case, I think that happens exactly. The film spends almost all its time making nonsense plans in which you see the characters look at each other or look at infinity with voice-overs saying phrases that claim to be phrases for the story but do not say anything. If you like to watch movies that enjoy the visual, metaphysical part but without a course, you'll like it.The actors, they are, if they are, but I believe that they do not even know what they have to do, besides putting interesting faces. It is not known how they act, because they do not say anything. It is filmed in many places. I wondered if I chose the sites for something or if I had rolled there because it seemed nice. I'd like to ask the director. She has a photograph that is ugly, even if she is not pretty, but I do not know what she wants to tell me, because I do not know if she brings anything to the story.Directing Malick, I do not know if he directs but if we say that he does not understand anything, as much has not directed. The film is so special that you can not appreciate the tempo, or anything, but I know that the plans do not like or tell me anything. Some are even poorly composed. The unconditional of this director, you will be delighted.
SnoopyStyle Neil (Ben Affleck) falls for Marina (Olga Kurylenko) in Paris while traveling in Europe. He brings her and her daughter Tatiana to his home in Oklahoma. Marina feels isolated in the suburban existence and Neil reconnects with childhood love horse rancher Jane (Rachel McAdams). While Marina is back in Paris, Neil starts a romance with Jane. Marina is lost in Paris and returns to marry Neil. Meanwhile local priest Father Quintana (Javier Bardem) is struggling with his faith.Terrence Malick knows how to shoot a beautiful shot. Every scene is a thing of beauty. Even the suburban sameness has a fascinating look. The scenes have a flowing feel to them. However, most of the movie is a low tension affair. There are a couple of dramatic scenes but this is not a movie of intensity. Honestly Rachel McAdams is beyond beautiful. She is electric. I think the movie would work better with her as Marina. No offense to Olga, but Rachel is the better actress.
