Kailansorac Clever, believable, and super fun to watch. It totally has replay value.
IncaWelCar In truth, any opportunity to see the film on the big screen is welcome.
Philippa All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
ebossert It's very difficult for me to maintain my composure right now while writing this review, because I've never been so misled by IMDb comments as I was with this movie. I've seen Tomie (1999), Tomie: Rebirth (2001), and Tomie: Forbidden Fruit (2002). I disliked all of them, so I never planned to see another movie in this franchise ever again. Then, I saw the overwhelming glorification of Tomie vs. Tomie on IMDb through both the rating and user comments. After reading the content of the comments, I decided to blind buy this movie online. All I can say is that many of these user comments are completely MISLEADING regarding the content of this movie.Let me offer some specific examples to support my case, because I honestly could not believe the outright LIES that have been spouted on this website. I'll try to avoid spoilers, so I'll make my statements vague, yet specific enough to compare to the other user comments."It's intensive and action packed." This is an outright lie. After a brief, 30-second verbal spat as children, the Tomies don't even meet each other until 50 minutes into the film. There is literally NO ACTION WHATSOEVER for that entire period of time. At that moment, we get the "action", which consists of half a dozen badly choreographed moves. THAT'S IT! We are then treated to another 20 minutes of boredom until the finale, which consists of – get this – a single strike."So of course there is a lot of things getting blown up." What a joke. Not one explosion in the entire film."The car chases are just fantastic." I kid you not. There is not one single car chase in the entire film. Not even one! "The end climax is the most awesome special effects action sequence ever put together on film." After the one-strike finale, there are two very short SFX scenes involving fire and some blood. However, they are NOT action scenes, just background effects or slight gore enhancers."Like 'The Host', but far superior…You are frantically trying to build a picture in your head of what the thing looks like…" Completely inaccurate comparison. There are no monsters in this movie that are even comparable to The Host. Nor are there any monster chase scenes. The only "monster" is Tomie. And if you've seen any of the other Tomie movies, you know what her occasional regeneration is like. (There are only one or two in this movie, by the way.) This reviewer is trying to mislead you into thinking that there's this giant beast that the camera only shows portions of. Not true, at all.I'm sorry, but many of the current reviewers on IMDb are either Studio Plants who are trying to sell this badly made film by LYING to the general public, or they're fan-boys of the other Tomie films who are attempting to do the same.I've had suspicions of Studio Plants with various Hollywood films, but I've never seen it so obviously implemented as it is with Tomie vs. Tomie. If it was a matter of subjective opinion, I'd be fine with it. If all 10 of these guys gave accurate descriptions of the film and gave their opinions, I would respect them for it. But making FALSE and MISLEADING statements regarding the content of this movie is morally wrong.Yeah, you were able to swindle me out of my hard earned money, because there's no way I would have purchased this film without the references to "action packed", "car chases", "explosions", and "monsters" because my gripe with the other movies was the horrendously slow pacing and their overall boredom. I had no idea that I was being lied to. If I knew, I would not have purchased the movie.I highly recommend that IMDb users disregard most of the glowing reviews of this film, as they are obviously planted.
