Leofwine_draca TRAILER PARK OF TERROR is an astonishingly bad B-movie horror flick that feels like a cheap rip-off of the work put out by Rob Zombie. This trashy movie sees a bunch of dumb characters heading into a trailer park filled with even dumber characters. Eventually they all get taken prisoner by a bunch of undead demons, who are merely bad actors wearing rubber masks. Plenty of torture and gratuity ensues, all playing out without the slightest wit or interest. The disappointing cast's sole redeeming feature is the underrated Lew Temple, of THE WALKING DEAD fame, but the rest of the no-hopers make no impact, and nor does the film.
Scott LeBrun Hicks and horror sure seem to go hand in hand. Being at the mercy of stereotypically sleazy and sadistic backwoods boors has been a theme in movies going back a long way; as the hayseed horror hosts at the beginning say, we have Herschell Gordon Lewis and "Two Thousand Maniacs!" to thank for that. Our protagonists this time are a troubled bunch of kids being chaperoned by a well meaning pastor; they have a bus accident in the rain and come upon the trailer park of the title, which the audience already knows, from watching the extended prologue, has a tragic history. Now the undead redneck residents are going to have themselves some fun torturing these poor dumb schmucks. At least with this gang, there's no guarantee of who will make it out alive if indeed anybody does. Based on the comic book series of the same name, this production sure creates just the right look for this show, with some juicy atmosphere. The music is pretty kick ass, with the character of Roach, played by Myk Watford, sometimes breaking into song. Country music star Trace Adkins, who co-stars as the mysterious stranger, also supplies the ditty "Welcome to Hell". Rabid horror fans will dig the shameless, in your face gore fest that "Trailer Park of Terror" ultimately turns into. The cast is populated with some familiar faces and some not so familiar: Rob Zombie regular Lew Temple is Marv, super sexy Nichole Hiltz ("May") is the young Norma who sets the plot in motion, extremely delectable stunt woman / actress Michelle Lee is Miss China, the lovely Priscilla Barnes ("The Devil's Rejects", 'Three's Company') the ill-fated Mama, Duane Whitaker ("Pulp Fiction", "From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money") the creepy Sheriff Keys, and ubiquitous "Hey, it's that guy!" actor Tracey Walter is the "ancient" trucker. Provided all of this is to your tastes, this is a good deal of depraved, demented fun, that's pretty relentless once it really gets going. An undeniable highlight is seeing one of the victims being flayed and eventually deep fried. "Trailer Park of Terror" comes highly recommended. Eight out of 10.
jwin101-1 This movie's billing as a Zombedy is just right. It's totally gory and funny all at the same time. The acting was good, and the cinematography was noticeably creative. Trace Adkins as the devil was a treat - wish he'd had a bigger role! The characters were well-drawn for a horror movie. The trailer park set was terrific: the stuff of nightmares! My only complaint was the make-up on the zombie faces. I thought it would have been more effective had it been a little more refined. These are a different kind of zombie than we usually see. They're intelligent (or, rather, as intelligent as they were in life), had memory of their lives, behaved more like vampires in that they worked together as a group. This would make a great movie to show at Halloween. Grab a bowl of popcorn and enjoy the fun!
overkillxx The only good part of this movie was seeing the lead actress semi naked at the start, after that it was all down hill at high speed. The zombies if you would call them that were pretty stupid and I was just praying that the would be victims would find a way to kill them just to shut them up!! The plot itself was poor in places and there is nothing really redeemable about it other than the occasional laugh which isn't what makes a good horror. One to avoid to avoid, mowing the lawn is more entertaining. I do believe the lead actor however would excel in porn movies due to her great figure & Poor acting..
