Best movie ever!

A Masterpiece!

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

The movie really just wants to entertain people.

When i began to watch i had high hopes. They were quickly changed. My first and main problem with this film is that it's just stupid. The characters actions are completely illogical the majority of the time. First of all the gang of criminals decide to force the car off the road in broad daylight instead waiting to take it from the family without them knowing. They could have even stopped them and taken the money in a very indiscreet way which still had a happy ending for everyone by just taking the money from the family. I'm sure they would have handed it over very easily!Second point, the teenage boy blames his dad for everything when in actual fact i would blame the mother. She kicked Jim's character out of the car without letting him defend himself to prove him being innocent. This leads to him having a few fingers cut off, the family being held hostage and a few bloody noses.I could go on and on but i'm going to skip to the end of the movie. A guy gets shot with an AK47 at close range and still manages to survive. Then the ONE clip of AK47 rounds is unleashed at 2 members of the gang for what seemed like a very long time. Surely she would have run out of ammo sooner. This is my first review so i'm sorry if its rubbish. But hey, i don't really give a toss.

Good premise, decent acting. Maybe if you're smoking dope (a lot of dope) this movie would make some sense. At least the film was consistent - every one of the characters' choices made no sense whatever. It's like one of those horror films where all the victims set themselves up to be murdered. I wouldn't recommend this film to a dog. My dog watched for 15 minutes and fell asleep. From the attempt to run the family off the road, to the husband taking off into the swamp for NO apparent reason. Lots of nonsensical automatic weapons. The plant of an idea with the wedding band, gave me a slight hope of foreshadowing but alas, the husband acted more like it was a paper cut. I don't blame the actors, but the direction and the writing. Somebody should have been looking over their shoulders saying "no, no that does not make sense". Oh yes, was the van overheating or not?

A bunch of thugs orchestrate an armored car robbery, killing the guards in the process. The next morning on the run with the money, they find out through their police scanner that there's a roadblock ahead so they decide to park at a rest stop. When an SUV packed with luggage on the roof parks nearby they get an idea- exchange their package with a piece of luggage from the SUV, follow the owner and later pick up the money. The plan works well, the SUV goes through the roadblock and so do the bad guys despite misgivings by the police. But when it comes to getting the money back, the bad guys get impatient and lose it. They try to drive the SUV off the road at a speed trap. The driver of the SUV is caught and because he's on parole, he's jailed. His family rents two rooms in a motel. The bad guys break into one of them but it's the room that doesn't have the money. The police arrive and the bad guys leave. Once again they have to catch up with the family later to get the money. When the wife by accident discovers the money, she blames the husband who was previously jailed for white collar crime. She leaves him with the money in the middle of the road and drives with the two sons away. He hides the money and has to figure out how to get his family back with whom the bad guys have caught up.Transit is one of the better movies of the genre. It has plenty of good action and violence but it's also intelligent as the father and his nemesis figure out ways to outsmart each other. The cast is excellent: Caviezel, Röhm, Frain shine in their roles. The bad guy is bad and you can't wait for him to face justice while Caviezel is immensely likable. This is a B movie like they used to make them decades ago- a good cast, good story, well-made-- just barely below an A level movie. I enjoyed that almost the entire movie takes place outdoors in Louisiana.

I'm a film maker myself, I wanted to support this thing, but its just not good enough, and with so much going for it too. You'd think with Jim in there and a hefty action squad supporting the movie that it'd be engaging at least on an entertainment level, but its really not. It's undershot, unpleasant to look at with a weirdly heavy grade, its dialogue heavy and with far too many of the worst interior car scenes I think I've ever seen. I mean Hill Street Blues did car scenes 30 years ago better than these. The Hitcher did it very well. In fact now that I think on it, everyone has shot better interior car scenes than in this film - and its set inside cars!To be fair I abandoned the viewing some 9 out of 12 parts in, and it has a lot of cool car stuff in there, but its ham fisted in its delivery. The editing is just weird, probably from undershooting and some of the small story points they try to make get lost in the edit. Honestly - take my word for it. It's rubbish. It's a waste of money. Stay away.
