This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.

I just saw this jewel on Netflix. Firstly, I agree with some of the reviews people have written. I gave three stars to this movie, which is generous to say the least. It has bad acting (overacting) , bad story and just about everything else in this movie is bad. I'll only list the biggest problems.1. Budget was too low for this bold of a project. This is no Iron Sky, it also had a ridiculous storyline but had nearly perfect CGI that resulted in a slick final product. Transmorphers CGI looked like cartoons. Come to think of it, why didn't they try to make this as an animated movie? Based off the Transformers cartoon? Instead?2. Producers TRIED to take this movie seriously. It could have redeemed itself if the director had given into the ridiculousness and went more tongue and cheek for a campy feel. They had an attractive female cast (per IMDb profiles) but failed to cash it on them. (Only one semi scantily clad woman around 1 hour in.) A little gratuitous nudity and sex could have improved things dramatically. It felt like a porno-WITHOUT the porn. AND Amy Webber was even it! Remember her from Son of The Beach? She's still HOT, could have had a reason to have some PG rated bikini scenes! BUT NO!!!!!!!3. Lastly, people don't seem to be seeing this movie for what it was meant to be; a cheap cash maker, made to bring in some money off the popularity of Transformers. And it is what it is. I found it bad, but watchable. Most entertaining when viewed with a group of people to help heckle it, and alcohol.

From reading the bulk of the reviews one wouldn't be mistaken for thinking most people actually thought this was Transformers and were bitterly disappointed and left wondering what all the hype was about. However the point of this review isn't to compare it to Transformers. The acting was wooden at times but the characters were quite likable to the point of caring for them, and even the General grew on me during the course of the film. These certainly aren't Oscar winning performances, but there is a reason these guys are in films like Transmorphers. Job well done. The CGI was pretty awful, but it was nothing more or nothing less than what I was expecting. The director did not have Michael Bay's budget at his disposal; criticizing Transmorphers for its CGI would be akin to complaining a holiday to the Arctic was ruined because it was too cold.Despite what many others have said, I really liked the plot even if it did get a little 'messy' at times. There isn't really much to it to comment on, but I felt it was well paced and the characters were likable. Accepting the CGI, the action scenes were pretty cool and I thought the ending was quite fitting and even a little sad on some levelsYes, parts of it probably didn't make any sense and were daft, but who cares, its a fun Sci-Fi film.Just as you wouldn't go into an Action Film expecting a Romantic Comedy, you shouldn't watch DTV films expecting something that they aren't. Providing you can manage that, I fully recommend Transmorphers and I can honestly say I enjoyed it more than Transformers itself (although Megan Fox was sorely missed). In my opinion movies are all about entertainment, and while thousands of movies are light years ahead Transmorphers from an artistic perspective, I'm going to rate score this on entertainment levels. 7/10Lastly, and something that for some unknown reason bugged me throughout - I know it was stormy outside, but who wears swimming goggles in the rain!?!

That this film was being shown on Zone Horror (a channel more used to showing films that aspired to be the sort of films that the Scream trilogy parodied) was the first hint to it's quality. Very low budget, and it showed. Plot sketchy at best, acting not brilliant and FX about what you'd expect from a fan film. The fight scenes were particularly bad (in particular the 'cat fight' in the barracks). On the other hand, it wasn't as bad as many commenters have made out, certainly better than the normal fare on Zone Horror. Whilst the CGI was poor most of the physical FX were decent enough. Whilst the acting wasn't brilliant I've seen far worse in much higher budget films from mainstream studios, it felt like some more rehearsal or possibly another take would have improved it greatly. All in all it felt rushed rather than bad. Certainly the cast seemed attractive enough to hold one's attention if you're looking for eyecandy and the costumes were good if a little monotonous (though, to be fair, that's what you expect from uniforms).A number of comments have compared this film to Starship Troopers, and a number have rebutted the the comparison. I think the comparison is,if you take the different in budgets into account, quite fair. Transmorphers is certainly close to Starship Troopers and far better than Starship Troopers 2. Yes it has ripped off plot points and scenes from other films, but then there's nothing unusual about that. Heck, there's an entire art movement based around that, it's called post-modernism! Stephen

Changed the channel after the first two minutes. Turns out they found a planet 20 million light years away and we sent a message of peace five years later they responded. Okay first off we do not know of anything that travels faster than the speed of light, radio waves travel at the speed of light. Meaning if we sent a radio message it would take 20 MILLION YEARS TO GET TO THEIR PLANET. Then even if the robots could travel at the speed of light it would take them 20 MILLION YEARS TO REACH US!!!!!! Plus I would say another year or two for them to assemble a military strike before they left. Even if they found a way to bend the space time continuum to warp to us, our message would still take 20 MILLION YEARS!!!!
